For metal, I think Noctambulant, Splatterthrash, and the new Anata are my favorites. Knives of Ice was really good too. That DFD CD was kinda cool. A step back in the right direction for them. And I agree about most the ones you listed being good (especially Gorod).

i thought the new Frightmare was rather weak especially when compared to Midnight Murder Mania

the new Psycroptic is tightly played but they dont seem like they pushed themselves as much as they did on Scepter. the producition is perfect though. i just wish their were a few Cruelty Incarnate and Sky Coffin

i still need to hear that Blind Guardian without the annoying voiceovers. A Night At The Opera and Imaginations are godly in my book

i also thought the new Anata was pretty weak. musically, those guys are near the top in technical death metal but the songwriting was lacking. they'll never touch Infernal Depths or Under A Stone if they keep this up

why did they rerelease Butcher The Weak already?

and im not big into live albums. ill probably never listen to that Suffocation one but i saw the tracklisting. if only i could have seen that show live. my only complaint would be the lack of Breeding The Spawn songs. with a good production, that would be one of my favorite death metal albums ever. it needs remastered so bad

thats why i never got too into black metal the shit would prolly be really really good but the recordings are so piss poor i cant even listen to it, same goes with the early carcass stuff it sounds like its recorded in a basement and i just seem to get past that
