View Full Version : Official Statement Regarding Recent Slow Shipping
Brutal Bands

First I want to apologize to anyone that has had to wait longer than normal for their orders to arrive over the past few weeks. The delays are from the label and have nothing to do with the US postal service. Most people received their orders as quickly as they would normally expect from our label. But I also know many people did not.
A lot has gone on in the past few weeks here at Brutal Bands; apparently more than one devoted metalhead can possibly keep up with.
During a 2-3 week period things got ridiculously busy -
- Nailshitter - "From The Bowels Of The Impaled" MCD was released and pre-orders shipped.
- Devourment - "Butcher The Weak" pre-orders were shipped (hundreds of packages!)
- Brutal Bands promoted two national shows here in MN and sponsored two national festivals half way across the country.
- Brutal Bands signed a distribution deal with PHD Canada Distribution
- And my own band INCINERATE played 5 shows (3 of which were national shows across the country)
All of this along with massive increased orders, made it very difficult to keep up on orders and get them shipped out right away. Also with everything going on, our inventory got a little screwed up so some items in our online store said they were in stock, when actually we were out. In all cases though we were able to get these items stocked again - but this also delayed orders from going out. We still have a handful of orders that we are just waiting for 1 CD to come in on so we can ship them.
I can tell you as of tomorrow, August 18th, the last 15 Devourment pre-orders will have been shipped. So for any international customers that are waiting for their Devourment pre-orders, they are coming now for sure!
We've already got a plan in place to make sure nothing like this ever happens again. Our 24 hour processing/shipping is back on track as well as our fast, responsive customer service. I want to thank everyone for their continued support and I hope many of you will continue to check out our web site when it's time to buy some more metal. I promise your orders will ship out as quickly as they used to.

It's cool to make such a statement, Scott! I received my Devo pre-order today, I just had to wait 2 weeks, which is reasonable. I'll continue to order through BB e-store for sure!

thanks for the statement. its appreciated. the most labels wouldn't even spend a thought about doing something like that.
if you've got time, can you tell me if you've reicived my money? one or two days more or less, don't matter if you order things from overseas. thats at least how I feel about it.

We get so many orders in, it's hard to say. Please provide you're full name and what you ordered. And if I can I will try to remember if it's been received and shipped. We don't keep electronic records of mailed in orders, but I'll try my best.

Hey, yeah this order was shipped out. It's hard to say if it was out ealrier last week, or later in the week on Friday. But in either case it was shipped out last week, so you should have it in a week or so.

So I was surfing around the forums a bit and I was reading some threads about other labels and people waiting forever for their packages to arrive. It seems most customers in these threads were made to believe it was all the post office's fault - man, I hate to see that.
Post offices are not that bad. We've shipped out thousands of packages and honestly I can only think of literally a few that actually were delayed or lost by the post office. So we're talking probably a 99.9% success rate from the post office. I hate to see people fooled into believing the post offices cause most of the delays. The fact is they do not.
Here's a little hint when ordering from any label. When you receive your package, just look at the date stamped on the postage. This is the date it was shipped. So if you get a package and the date on the postage is from a week ago, but you ordered the item a month ago, you know the label sat on it for 3 weeks before shipping. It's really quite easy to figure out where the delays come from.

Yeah, post offices are actually quite good. 4 days to come from the US to France is even impressive! I'd always received packages from abroad til the Neurotic disaster with my Spawn Of Possession pre-order. Sent twice and never got it, I start thinking I was ripped off...

Ive been doing mail out for like 10 years and Ive had maybe one issue where I actually think it was the fault of the post office. usually if people are blaming the post office, they are trying to cover their own laziness
it depends which nations postal service you're talking about having trouble with....
ie, from personal experience the (main, non-courier service) Royal Mail is notorious for losing parcels, never getting stuff there on time, delivering to wrong addresses... and god knows what else. Not to mention instances where half the time i have packages from the US come straight to my address, the other half they've been stopped at UK Customs inbound right down on the south coast, which always adds an extra two days onto the delivery time.
TBH, as ill-informed as I sometimes am, when i'm ordering from a label i usually stick to those i've ordered from before at least once and had nothing but good service from (atm that stands at Goregiastic, Unmatched Brutality and Brutal Bands)... although i've noticed the flaw in the ability to order when you don't have PayPal (like me) which has pretty much curtailed any future orders from UBR as their credit card thing is utter crap and never accepts my credit card for no reason.
*ramble*
but yeah, i'm thankful for Brutal Bands - regardless of whatever, as you yanks would call it, 'tardiness' - carrying what they do otherwise i'd be currently lamenting not being able to get hold of at least three albums i'm particularly keen on getting, without sending cash in t'mail.
oh yeah and I purposely ordered those three CDs i was keen on from Brutal Bands deliberately so i could also order the Nailshitter EP only to fucking forget that... :suicide:

when it comes to delivering packages, the post offices are pretty reliable. for example, I've ordered shirts from PA for 3 times and I've always reicived them three days later. thats insanely fast! but sending money is a huge risk all the time, whereever you send it to. I don't have a credit card, so I always have to send hidden cash, which costed me a lot of extra money.
@Scott thanks man. like I said, a few days more or less, dosn't matter for me. if you order from overseas, you have to expect some time to arrive.

Hey sorry for the crazy delay on this order! I believe what happen is that we were waiting on some more Spawn Of Possession CDs that were on the way in, and then during a very chaotic time for us, your order got lost in the shuffle. We were able to locate your order information and everything was shipped out this morning. Your should have everything within 4 to 7 days. Thanks again for your order and patience!
