find this article sort of offensive in that it seems to think aggressive music has just now become socially concious. metal has always been one of the most diverse music forms of the last 30 years or so.

I think its more like metal just disappeared through the second half of the nineties and now its come around full circle through the late 2000's... and now they're using the angle of "politically conscious metal" as a story for the general public. I think it's pretty interesting that our lyrical standpoint is being exhibited to this extent. Don't know that I agree with the content, the picture first of all(I look like fuckin Bea Arthur with the sun in her eyes-which it was!) but all press is good press I guess... I must confess.. I now undress. What a mess....
