i'm going with my good friend to chicago in about a week and a half.
it would be cool to meet up with people from there.
my apartment lease ends in a month, and i have to find somewhere else to stay. i don't feel comfortable living with anyone else that i know of that is looking for a roommate, and i was considering moving away just to get a fresh start on life. we both decided chicago seemed pretty cool, and we're going to check it out.
advice on chicago, anyone?

I was with my friends in the city a couple of weeks ago and this guy in the noodle bar that we were eating at kept looking at us really strangely. I think it was mainly due to the fact that my friends were kissing and fooling around and being kind of loud, whereas he was trying to read a book. After a while he was like 'DO YOU MIND?' so my friend (the girl) just said 'Yes, actually. We do.' and then he just continued sitting there looking angry. Anyway, we eventually left the place and for some odd reason he must've followed us like 300 meters down the street and then he approached us and said exactly this:
"ALRIGHT LISTEN HERE YOU LITTLE SHITS. I'M FROM FUCKING CHICAGO... AND WE DON'T TAKE THAT KIND OF SHIT WHERE I COME FROM. MAN, LIKE... I DON'T CARE IF YOU FIST HER IN THE RECTAL TRACT OR IN THE FUCKING VAGINAL TRACT, BUT DON'T YOU FUCKING GET SMART WITH ME. I'M FROM FUCKING CHIGAGO!"
True story.
So yeah, based soley on that experience I don't think I'll ever be going to Chicago.
hahaha...that is the more stupid shit i ever heard-ed.

where? in the city or in the burbs? The city itself is high living cost. You might find cheaper apartments, but everything costs about 1.5 times as much as the burbs.

yeah dude. i love big cities. there's so much commotion in big cities. they never sleep. and i don't either. i fit in well.
but i just got a call for a job interview in atlanta making $40,000 a year. my interview is wednesday, so if i get the job, i'm not going to be moving. if i don't get the job, i might be moving.
idunno. we'll see.
what do you mean everything costs 1.5 times as much? groceries/gas/clothes/etc everything? or just living expenses?

everything really.
a gallon of milk will run you like... what? $4 in the city? by me it runs about $2.75.
Gas is ridiculously higher, and cigs... especially newports... are over $7 a pack
