or do horse play all of their songs a million times faster live than they are on record, i know its common for bands to play songs faster sometimes, but every thing i've seen of them live each song is insanely fast compared to its recording?

I'd like to think the reason for this is because they want to fit as many songs as possible into the small time they're allowed to play. Also, by making the songs, which on the recordings are already fast, even faster, it creates the Elijah Wood effect, and if you don't know what I'm talking about, neither do I.

Or they all want carpal tunnel syndrome.

Nah dude, they take the risk. There will always be more mistakes when you play shit ridiculously fast. But faster is funner. Or more fun, depending on the kind of person you are.

Also, when adrenaline is pumping, everyone just naturally wants to play faster. It's science. I read it on the internets.
