Shit. I hope you do not lose your job, but seriously those idiots in the media are over reacting.

If people would really think and not just follow like rats to be poisened, they wouldn't be poisened by the media.
And I don't think, a human beeing with more than 2 braincells would really believe this crap. But for most of the people it is the easiest way not to collide with most of the other peoples pseudo"opinions" of life.

Rigel, have you gotten in any trouble because of this stuff? In any case, it's great exposure :D

There's honestly nothing to get in trouble about. It's just like getting up an actor for acting in a film which deals with similar themes as DOA's lyrics. It's just entertainment, folks. Not too many bands can boast this kind of publicity.

Very true, but we all know how the conservative people in power react to all this. Remember the Cannibal Corpse tour ban? I was just wondering if maybe Rigel had lost his job or something.

Free publicity...what more could you ask for?
(I'll bet the crime rate in the surrounding area has gone down considerably too...lol)

Heh, I'm also quite amazed in the fact where the hell 3 News got their info on Dawn being a "Thrash metal band" or "Death-Thrash metal band".... its confusing really cause searching online I havent seen or heard anyone refer to Dawn as one of these...

I think, they call DoA a death/thrash Metal Band, because thrash is the most famous form of Metal and "death" sounds more evil than "black".
Whoah, it's a <---DEATH---> metal band!
Simple manipulation of the masses. The media's special.

wait, so what is DoA then? its not black (at least on sedition) but its not exactly death either?

I think DoA are playing a mixture between thrash-, death- and black metal. Thrash metal, because of the massive drumslams, joes guitar work and Rigels highly aggressive vocals. Death metal, because of the brutality and Black metal, because of the social-darwinistic and satanic lyrics, which are definitively black metal for me. But that's my opinion, so what do you think?

Id like to think we incorporate all those sounds, we are all big fans of all of them.
We aim create something that has its own sound first and foremost, To create metal that is extreme, dark and aggressive, with an emphasis on catchy riffs and structures that are dynamic and memorable. I think this is one of the main elements that separates us from the technical death movement which alot of reviews seem to be lumpng us with on this album. In my opinion the vast majority of bands in that genre (especially recently) over emphasise speed and technicality at the expense of almost everything else.
Although for example it would be easier, especially from a marketing perspective, to try and lump our sound in with the brutal death scene at the moment , I dont really think we are particularly tied to that or any of the styles you mentioned.

Ha ha ha! That is probably why you have the media in the UK labelling poseur bands as death metal. I remember reading this one newspaper where it said some pussy mallcore band was death metal, and I could not stop laughing my ass off.
But with DoA, I do not care what genre you guys are classed as. You rule. :hbang32en

Quote from Rigel: "...I dont really think we are particularly tied to that or any of the styles you mentioned."
Hails!
As I wrote, that was just my opinion. I think, every talented artist wants to separate his work from other artists. I like to hear the speakers smashed by "Spare None", "Master Of The Strumpets" and "Justice Is A Fist", because your sound really isn't like the sound from other metal bands. May it be technical, brutal, slow, fast, black, death or whatever else... Why do people always have to put things into categories? In most cases this categorization is a guiding line for people to find out if they are interested in a band at all.

Just for my interest: Just skinhead or nazi-skinhead? (At least) in Germany there are two kinds of skins. The ones with a real scene and those damn nationalist idiots who like to get their faces smashed by my fists.

I love it when nazi skins dont even realise that skins stemmed originally from a scene that had no racist attitudes whatsoever.
SHARPS are pretty damn annoying too though, as valid as their point is.

Yes! I think, that's also my opinion...

SHARPS? What does that mean? Something like Left-extremistic behaviour? I'm not a "real" extremist, but if someones tries to attack me, I'll do my best to beat the shit out of him. And I did it quite often here in "Good Old Germany" :D
Did you ever made some experiences like that (with those damn nazi-skins)?

SkinHeads Against Racist Prejudice.
dont get me wrong, I have no issues with their point of view, but the fact that they enforce their beliefs with the same violence that nazi skins do is a bit wack.
I'm fine with people defending themselves if they are set on, but fuck starting shit.

Trad Skinhead. Not a nazi or a sharp , both dont really belong. Im a nationalist of course , and proud of my heritage. But looking where the skinhead culture came from , it makes no sense to be a racist...and then listen to all my reggae albums , you know?

Not really, its not something that Im particularly interested or something thats very big here, so I havn't really even had any contact with the scene here, its mostly just biggoted simpletons as opposed to -some- of what you can find overseas haha

Now I know... Don't feel bothered. Although Raggae is not really my kind of music, I respect your traditional skinhead attitude.
