We've been recording some drumtracks with a bassdrum trigger and a rented module... we got a really good sound on the bass drum which sounded perfect apart from the really fast double bass parts. On these the trigger only seems to pick up about 3/4 of the actual beats played making it sound really inconsistent... We think it could be to do with the force of each hit... does anyone have any advice?

Rob, I think SD had the same trouble with this cause they had triggers to keep the bass drum sound the same at gigs, its something to do with latency (to many hits and the program not being able to pick them all up or something). Nate might be able to help you out on this one, he's always on the Gorerotted forum so you can get him there.

we had the same problem,it might not be the trigger but the module itself.

Yeah it's annoying... I'll try sending a P.M. to Nate to see if he can help.

Can you describe the setup? What kind of mudule, trigger type, settings on the module, actual placement location of trigger, tightness of head, etc.

Yamaha module may not cut it. Need Alesis unit. Ddrum pro trigger and then a good player that hits correctly and consistantly. Cant get pro recordings unless you do it the way the pros do.
