Interview Fondle Corpse
By Niemord Of TheWebzine
Matanza Extrema.

1. Count us a little the history of Fondle Corpse..
Well Fondlecorpse was started up in 1996 by me, i drew a sketch and wrote under it Fondlecorpse and it became the bandname from then forward. The band has had a lot of line-up changes over the years and always we were close to recording and the band died again. In 2002 I hooked up with Bas and Mathijs Brussaard and this line-up worked and resulted in the first official release the split seven inch with Inkblack, after that one sold out we did the Limbless EP and a compilation song for Razorback records and re-released the stuff on a cd by popular demand. This year we got help from Paul Beltman who did session drums on the new split album that has yet to be released with Frightmare. Hopefully this will be our most insane stuff up to date. And so the saga continues.

2. How you classify your music? Why this style?
Well we play old school b-movie worshipping death metal, plain and simple, this is about PURE SPLATTER B-MOVIE GORE!!!!!!!!!!! the oldschool way, and dare i say it.....FUN, Lyrically we range from 80's cartoons and Television series, to every aspect of Gore/ horror/ Splatter/ Slasher/ and ofcorpse a bunch of Pornstuffs, The good things in life!!! get ready for the attack of couch potatoe gore!!!!!! As to why this style, for me personally i grew up in the golden age of deathmetal and thats what i play and have never changed. This is just the style i enjoy and feel at home with. I don’t see myself ever changing it i am kinda an old dinosaur just doing what he knows best.

3. What signifies for the band the famous phrase "Never forget the Mutant Couchpotato legion is EVERYWHERE"?
I guess you could see it as us being your normal average joe blow, we work shitty jobs and come home and watch our gore movies and b-movies to escape the daily grind. I guess what we mean to say is there are people like us everywhere so in essence we are everywhere!! we have friends everywhere in all walks of life in all scenes in all gore related professions. Everybody could be part of the legion.

4. Do you have other projects or other band aside from Fondle Corpse?
I personally don’t have any other projects, i put 100% of my time in this band, and doing a second band would fragment my focus. I do however write for other bands like lyrics and such, for instance i wrote the lyrics to “Fullmoon Sacrifice” on the newest Blood Freak album. Bas and Mathijs also played in the band Inkblack but that band is on ice right now, and Paul who helps us out his main band is Sinister.

5. At present you recorded the cd "From Beyond The Crypt" that includes all the songs of the following works (Limbless, FondleCorpse Vs Inkblack and The Horror Hive: Compilation, with a booklet included. ..etc) Why is owed this?
We released all our old material on a cd on Posercrusher records from Holland so people without a recordplayer can also listen to our stuff, we got a lot of mail if we could re-release it on cd because so many people don’t own a record player, so what the fans want they get. We aren’t out to make our stuff rare and cult by limiting it or make it impossible for people to listen to unless they have a record player you know?. We do however like our fans to get their hands on something special and of good quality so we do try to make our releases special and not release cheap ass crap. So we collected everything we did sofar and some extra shit and had the cd be released.

6. How did they receive your followers this new producion? Then, it was received like you expected?
The CD has been received as well as can be expected for a small band like us. I am still amazed it sells at all hahahaha. Of both 7” records we got rid of about 500 each and the cd has been going steadilly and also passed 500 copies in circulation a while ago. I guess for our tiny genre we did pretty well, it’s more than i ever expected. So i guess thanx to all the fans for making it possible! hope you like our new stuff as much as the old!

7. What do you think of the sale of music gore? It is sold a lot of? Why?
I dont think it sells a lot at all, i consider what we do a micro genre in metal. Hell i am surprised we sell stuff at all. As far as i can see there is just a small group of fanatical fans who keep the style alive. But in the end we are a tiny as fuck genre i think.

8. Do you think to giving some concert in Spain?
We would love to play a few gigs in Spain if possible and hang out with the our bro’s in Machetazo. But we still don’t have a tourdrummer so for now, all we do is make cd’s and write new music. But if we can drag a drummer from a graveyard to tour with us who knows? we might be hitting Spain sooner than you think hahaha at least we hope hahaha.

9. What do you think of the bands of Spanish extreme metal?
I know the Spanish scene quite well, Ive been a fan of the scene for many years when even Repulse records still was going strong. After it died it seemed to be silent for a while but then Machetazo and others popped up it has been flourishing ever since. Spain has a lot of cool bands old and new like Uncreation, Reincarnation, Kevlar Skin, my brothers in Machetazo, Fermento, GSR, Denak, Avulsed, Unsane Crisis, Looking for an Answer and probably more i am forgetting at the moment. It seems like the Spanish scene is flourishing again!
