I feel sorry for the Australian CC fans. Like CC is the only band with offensive lyrics.
...did not comment on whether the group should be banned from playing and said outfits like CANNIBAL CORPSE thrived off negative publicity.
At least someone bothered to look beneath the surface and realise that it's all shock-tactics.

If anyone really HAD bothered to look beneath the surface, they'd realize that no member of Cannibal Corpse actually condones the actions detailed within their lyrics. George Fisher is the father of a new a baby girl, and he's thrilled about it; does anyone actually think he's in favor of murdering and raping children?!? C'mon! The members of Cannibal Corpse are decent people just like the actors on TV who portray murderers and rapists and pedophiles every day. Does anyone scream that Law and Order: SVU shouldn't be shown on TV because every episode features individuals indulging in sexual depravity? Fuck no, they don't! Christ, people get a fuckin' clue! Anyone ever think that maybe death metal artists might be condemning the actions they write about, or am I the only one?

If the Aussies do ban Cannibal COrpse, then all they are doing is proving that they are a bunch of inbred retards. Only an imbecile would actually be so disgusted by a band singing about gore that they wish to ban them.

Word. On the DVD that came with The Wretched Spawn, George said that brutal music deserved brutal lyrics. And also that all they do is sing about horror stuff. I think the quote was something like, "we basically write a horror script, and then perform it." It really is shock factor. Alex Webster even said it himself. If you read any interviews with George, or whoever, that's usually all they talk about in them.
