Plus we toured with Decapitated in summer of 2002. I made him play some of the solos backstage just to hear em, from the master himself.

the (Lux Occulta) vocalist does look kinda bizarre to me, but that's just probably either me or the video... just his mouth movements seemed out of sync with the words.
Plus the song was called "Kiss My Sword"... slightly camp but still.
I think there might be pictures from that tour up on the Decapitated site, but don't hold me to that ;)

Opeth's Still Life is their best I think. Opeth are everything, not just death metal. Possibly Nile's In Their Darkened Shrines. Oh, and anything by Britney Spears.

SLAYER aren't technically death metal. Nether.. I guess are Opeth or Darkthrone. Transilvanian Hunger was a black metal album and that shit was cold.

SUFFOCATION - pierced from within
DISMEMBER - like an everflowing stream

Soulside Journey was a DM album, as Fenriz has admitted. It was the only DM album they made before converting to the ways of black metal.

I can't be bothered listing my favourites, most of them have been mentioned already :)
I think I'll just promote three bands I've not seen mentioned.
Necrophagist - Onset of Putrefaction. Shame they split up.
Fleshless - Nice to Eat You (and some others I haven't heard)
Soils of Fate - "Crime Syndicate" and "Sandstorm". Scary vocals.
EDIT: Pyaemia. They're fucking awesome! Any Suffocation fan would love their album "Cerebral Cereal".

by the way have any of you seen anata live? if you have then isnt it funny just how different they sound. the album versions sound almost tame compared with the live versions, it wierd!!!
i may sound like a n00bey but my best death album is
Deicide-serpents of the light
that album is not only fucking cool but it also has helped me vent so much fucking anger. i used to get alot of shit in high school so i used to just come home and thrash about to it. it also pointed out just how many holes there are in christianity and how bigger of a joke it is than i first realised. thats a point whats the album thats helped whoever the most and why??????

Seeing as A. most people aren't listing death metal stuff anyway, and B. most of the DM stuff listed i have, I'll just list some of the stuff most listened to in my collection, that i haven't seen listed above.
Birdflesh - Night of the Ultimate Mosh
Machetazo - Trono De Huesos
Gorerotted - Mutilated in Minutes, Severed in Seconds
Necrophagia - Cannibal Holocaust
Vader - Live in Japan
Not all DM, but all good (birdflesh and necrophagia in a cheesy way).
Lee
I saw Anata live with Decapitated at the end of February... criminally underappreciated by the Manchester crowd.
A grand total of three people got up to rock out to them...
thats a point whats the album thats helped whoever the most and why??????
that doesn't make a lot of sense to me.
Anyway, go to www.symbols.com armed with a copy of/ picture of the front of Decapitated - The Negation, and work out what the symbols on the front mean ;) (HINT: the vertical line and curved arrow are one symbol, and the other is another)

Can't believe none of you guys have mentioned Intestine Baalism. They had both their albums reissued not long ago,and i will heartily recommend them to anyone who loves Death Metal of any kind;brutal, melodic, technical. What makes them a little bit different i think is,that they have a small, but lethal dose of Black Metal and Heavy Metal, and it works perfectly!Give them a go,you will not regret it at all.First album must be there most listened to album i have ever heard,An anatomy of the Beast. Also, noone else has mentioned Deceased,Fearless Undead Machines,an almost perfect album.Oh yeah, how could i forget Englands own Akercocke?Haven't even heard Choronzon yet, must be losing the plot!First 2 albums are awesome, though.

Some of my personal favourite Intestine Baalism songs are Cannibal Sodom,Tyrant and A Curse of Baal. I reckon the songs work better in the context of an album,so if you have heard say ,a couple of compilation tracks,it's not the complete picture.Wish i could find my Destroy The Opposition Dying Fetus cd,i've got the box,but no cd :(

ok everybody good stuff here, exactly the stuff i expected to see,
you can list stuff that isnt exactly death metal, like slayer and sepultura, they were big influences back in the day, oh and to that kid that asked what albums helped most with hard times or whatever, i would have to say(not what youd expect but....) some of the albums that helped me through the hard times were fear factory=obsolete, slayer=diabolos in musica, soulfly=selftitled, sepultura =arise, and other non- death metal stuff, ive been listening to death metal scince i was like three but that stuff really helped alot.
