theres like so many bands with a namd that enbodied the word "gore" and they sound very similar to each otehers. i donno if its just me. dats true to power metal too.. they have the troll, dragon, fall thing going on

i abhor power metal to a passion yet still like metal that's both fucking heavy and got hooks to die for (ie. Darkane - Expanding Senses). I hate 'clean' vocals with a passion.
I dislike 99% of 'goth metal/rock' and the majority of black metal. I hate emos.

I like what I like. I don't really give a fuck who approves of my taste and who doesn't.

Life's too short to get hung up on how similar one band is to another.

I've been into death metal properly about 5 or so years now, and the brutal shit for a couple of years, and I can honestly say I can easily distinguish between bands at will... if I like the music, I don't care how "original" they are, so long as the music is fucking good.

If we count on originality there will only be 10 or even less than death metal bands. It's all a matter of execution and delivery. My two cents only, of corpse.
