Nah, I don't think so, 'though it's often like that.
Rhizome is just a great opener. It's a slap in the face from the beginning, brutal, catchy and that shit... Shows you what you're going to be listening to the rest of the CD. A great song.

Could this be true for every CD?

Hmm... i used to think so as it's usually the one that you get the most exposure too - therefore it has most opportunity to soak into your conscious - but I've grown out of that phase and I seem to be able to judge the songs individually regardless of the order now.
