Please don't talk about this. We lost to a bunch of dudes who actually practise at training sessions on how to take a dive. What a joke. I swear that ref has a bounty on his head now.

we played pretty good, but i have to admit, when it came to gettign near the box, the australians were fuckin pussies. vaduka is fuckin useless. Totti had plenty of time to get out of the way. he even kicked the ball to the side as if to go around neill, it seemed like he deliberately kept running towards neill.
what pisses me off is that the world cup is bigger than the olympics yet they dont even bother to be professional enough to make use of a video referee. it would save a lot of shit decisions by refs, and would make the games more fair to reality.
i think both teams deserved to win. Italy had good defence and were good in attack when they were near the box, but australia kept most of the possession...has anyone noticed how every time the ball would leave the ground (eg-air passes) australia would always just give possession away?!!!

Yeah right, like no one dives in the sport.

The dives are part of the strategy in professional football.

I think it's pretty lame. In hockey, you get a penalty from diving.

same with soccer, but the referee thought it was for real...

dude, shut up about it. part of soccer is milking and/or avoiding calls. It always has been and always will be. Thats why you'll see a guy barely get tapped and he'll roll around for a good 15 seconds before he gets off his ass and realizes he's not getting the call.
Yeah the reffing has been VERY shitty this time around, but I've seen the same teams who are bitching about bad reffing barely taking the ball to the goal, and when they do, just blowing easy goals.
Like every sport, you have to play to what the refs are gonna give you.
You're not going to keep driving the hoop in basketball if the ref is calling the charge every single time.
You're not going to keep throwing high if the ump isn't giving you the strike in baseball.
