Metalcore was pretty ghey from the start. And I would say that this "deathcore" bullshit is the new metalcore, rather than tech death.

But honestly, if youre gonna play technical metal of any sort, please dont play it sloppy. I think Necrophagist is the pinnacle of technical music right now. When they play live its like album produced, and when they album produce, its like machine made. People should follow their example rather than bands like JFAC and that crap, but all this bullshit is coming out... bah.

As I Lay Dying's "Frail Words Collapse" was my first metalcore

I got extremely bored with both kind of fast though. Ive grown out of both of those genres completely, except I like a lot of bands that have hardcore influences (ex. Isis, Baroness, Buried Inside, etc.)

God Forbid is definetely one of the most underappreciated bands out there. Some of the only good Metalcore. Unearth and Martyr A.D. (RIP) are pretty dandy as well. The rest has become very typical and boring.

It's not really alcohol that kills the throat, it's mainly nicotene. You probably could get a fucked throat from alcohol but it's all about HOW you put your voice together. For instance if you sing from your lungs you won't get a fucked throat but if you use your throat chords then it could get painful. I sing like 80% of the time when I'm drunk, it's all good.
