Disappointed with Earache

I have to say I'm a bit disappointed with Earache's handling of Anata. To me, it seems that Anata are establishing themselves as one of the premier death metal bands in the world. From what I can remember, it has been a long time since the guys finished the album and it took forever to even find out when there would be a release date. Now the album is pushed back for the U.S. They don't seem to be promoting Anata very much and there is no special kind of release for the new album (i.e. special edition, digipack or what have you). I can't find barely any merchandise for the band except for one UASWNI t shirt that is only sold in Europe.

Sorry for the rant but I just think that Anata deserves better.

Agreed. They haven't even brought Blood Red Throne over to the US and there really start to establish themselves and Akercocke hasn't even toured the US in support of Words Go Unspoken, Deeds Go Undone, which is gaining lots ot critic acclaim

I always saw them as more of a Willowtip band... Of course, Willowtip is distributed in Europe by Earache, so that wouldn't matter much. They could always sign with The End. That label desparately needs a quality death metal band.

Yeah Neurotic did a real nice job with the new SOP and Psycroptic cd's. Had a package deal with t shirt deluxe cd poster, etc.

I agree also. Whenever I lend someone one of my Anata albums to listen to they always say the same thing: "Why haven't I heard of this band before? They're actually really good!" And I tell them how long the band has been around and they are always shocked. I think it's terrible when you have fans doing more publicity then the record label for an album/band.

kickass band... deserve more exposure
