Which bands were good and which were not as good as you would have thought. Any surprises? I was only there for the grind bands, so that's all I'm gonna talk about. But I'd still like to read other stuff.
I thought that Butcher ABC totally kicked ass. I was hoping that it would be good, but it was better than I thought. It looked like lots of people were very familiar with Butchered at Birthday. I was kind of nervous that they wouldn't have a good response, but I was happily surprised. I also thought that Mucupurulent was one of the biggest disappointments ever on a live set. I know they changed and I know they don't use the high screams anymore on the new stuff. But when they played the old songs on Sicko and Horny Like Hell, they just replaced the high screams with low grunts... This was a total disappointment and would actually rather not have seen them because they were fucking boring. I'm not gonna knock the latest album or anything because bands change, but don't play the old ones without the highs because that's what I wanna hear. Maybe I'm alone on this one. I really like Embryonic Cryptopathia but it was not as cool without a shifter I'm afraid... Not as exciting as I was thinking, but still a cool set! I went in knowing what to expect of Haemorrhage and Rompeprop and was not let down. Absolutely amazing sets and I love the new Rompeprop song "The Cleveland Steamer"... Haha... Never imagined they would use that as a song title, but cool!!! I missed Unholy Grave cuz of a "problem". Any good??? I haven't heard how they played from anyone.
