I am a metal head from the 1990 era. From my observations so is Travis Ryan and the CDcap bunch.
My credentials are as follows:
I was first in line in 89 for a Metallica show with an open floor at Hara Arena in Dayton Ohio; I saw Guns N Roses open for Aerosmith with only a 6 song slate; I saw Slayer Testament and Megadeth at the Cincinnati Gardens when I was on probation; I saw Pantera open for Wrathchild America at Bogarts at UC; I saw Prong open for A shitty Flotsam and Jetsam in 1991; I saw the Meatmen, equipped with rubber penis-heads open for GWAR; I saw GWAR on halloween in Cleveland introduced by Jerry Springer who was then engulfed by a huge maggott; I saw Deicide Cancer and Demolition Hammer back in the day; I saw Cannibal, Obituary, Malevolent and Agnostic Front in Tampa, Florida with Kelly Schaffer running the sound board with many, many current band memebers we know well in attendance ( I smoked a large joint with Steve Asheim); I was backstage with Machine Head on the Biohazard Slayer tour of which I had a Press Pass, I was at the Milwaukee Metalfest (97) when Slayer came out of semi-retirement, which included Overkill, Cannibal Corpse and Bolt Thrower; I saw Cannibal on their last tour with Chris Barnes on The Bleeding tour, probably the best show I've ever seen.
Nontheless, I've become a Cattle fan from seeing them in concert, first on the Suffocation, Cryptopsy tour at HOB in Anaheim (TRy wore his classic Coroner shirt) and then again opening for Brujeria, which I think CD (Vendejos) stole the show.
My point is, I am going to force feed myself this new album, Karma.Bloody.Karma. I will learn it as I learned Deicide Legion, Morbid Angel Domination and Bolt Thrower War Master. You know why? Because I am guaranteed when I see these guys live I am getting my goddamn money's worth. That means everything to, me. Thanks to TRy and that beardy Hool. Metal Blade will be finally vindicated beyond their irreverential homosexual tendencies.
