So last night I went over to my buddy's house, the lead guitarist for my old band. I pretty much quit because I had to go to Iraq and shit and I haven't really seen any of those fuckers for a few years. So last night we're on the back porch drinking forties and talking shit. I haven't picked up a guitar in months (long story, I got super frustrated at my guitar and just stopped playing) so he goes inside and gets one of his and puts that shit on my lap and tells me to start fucking jamming. It had been a long time, I didn't even remember any of my old shit. He did though, so he showed me real quick and we started fucking jamming out. Long story short, he's moving to Seattle so we can keep the shit going. It was most triumphant. :hbang32en

Hey man, where's the fucking love! Did Iraq erase your loving brain? What about all those body-warmth nights we shared in each others rectums?... I mean beds?

Jon, your band is sweet. I see you've all found your sound. It's hard for bands to do that these days. Any CD's coming up?

I just got asked to play drums for a thrash band called Zaitsev. There are some songs written we just gotta work on, right now were covering wrathchild by iron maiden, and then eventually we will have a secret surprise cover i may or may not upload for you guys. I listen to almost anything, so im pretty lenient when it comes to music, but thrash isnt too demanding on drums, so i should be able to pull this off.

This is one of the CDs from the punk band I was in while in Germany circa 97-98: Non Conform- Blutgratsche

The production/engineering isn't too good, but here it is.

We're gonna go record a real demo soon praise the lord. We just picked up a new singer and a second guitar player (it took 2 fucking years to find someone that could play the songs...wtf?)

so how do you feel about this metal? haha

\m/, your band is sick. I can see you guys going somewhere with your music. Reminds me of Glass Casket.

and BZM, you're insane at guitar. Total ego-crushing shred and soft rock stuff too. I saw that you listed Alan Holdsworth as one of your influences. Do you have any videos of you tapping/doing legato runs? I want to get cleaner at them.

I'm really not that hot in the chops dept; still have a lot of cleaning up to do, as I've been playing for a little less than two years... (most of what you hear in the video is Mr. Suicmez, if you listen closely you can hear me trying to stay caught up) if you want to learn more about the legato side of playing/fusion improvisation in general, I suggest talking to SeijuroMitsurugi (above in this thread).

yeah, man... its sweet
and you totally came into it with the right attitude.

it annoys the hell out of me when people post their band's material on here and then show no confidence in it.

Yea same... it's like, if you're gonna come on here and then link people to your stuff, and then trash the efforts of your other band members + yourself (yeahhhhh our drummer kinda sucks and our vocalist kinda sounds like shit and our mics weren't good and i couldn't mix it... etc etc)... kinda wack. If you don't enjoy your own material, what makes you think other people will? Don't put it on here, lol.

Yeah exactly....

for me...i'm not gonna be completely happy with a recording until its professionally done...I mean, the stuff on the myspace is just done with a fostex 8 track and cool edit, just gotta work with what you have and atleast make it sound like music haha.

anyone else have any of thier own bands to post?

Holy_Reality

i'll get some stuff up on ysi and stuff and make a new thread for it... the stuff on myspace (minus one song) is old and we dont play it anymore, so it would be pointless to listen.

That's why I gave the caveat for my YSI... it was professionally done. It obviously sounded great to me at the time, but after listening to it for years, you start to hear nuances that seem to be much more than they actually are.
