Anyone go to the Maryland Death Fest??

I went and it was absolutely insane. Municipal Waste was fun as hell to watch. Gorgasm was cool even though they only had one guitarist. Skinless was pretty sweet live. Alarum was awesome, although it seemed the crowd was a little less into them. They played "Piece Of Time" and "Flattening Of Emotions" which was probably one of the coolest things that happened at the fest. Anata were awesome. As far as Demilich, I wish the vocals were a little louder 'cause they weren't quite as powerful as I would've liked. It's still Demilich though, so it was insane. Vital Remains were great too, their vocalist is pretty intense, going into the crowd often.

The second day didn't have as many bands that interested me, but Embalmer were great. They mentioned that they would be putting out a new album in October, definitely excited about that. Rompeprop played a cover of "Boneyard" by Impetigo, so that cool to hear. Cattle Decapitation were cool, played some new songs, although they had some trouble with the triggers for the bass drums and for the first song Travis' mic was awful. So he slammed it down and got a new one, which I found a bit funny. Nothing really needs to be said about Necrophagist, but they were the band I most wanted to see and they definitely didn't disappoint. Pungent Stench were awesome as well, and a whole bunch of members from different bands that had played the fest were standing around the stage just going nuts. Same thing for Dismember, who were amazing as well.

The only thing that sucked was that both nights ran late, and because of curfew or something Vital Remains' and Dismember's set were cut short. After Dismember, a whole bunch of people stayed and chanted for an encore. Sucks that they couldn't do it. All in all, It was a great fest.

The vid from Severe Torture was that little kid that was on his dads shoulders making "the horns". What the shit happened during Demilich???? I guess I was far too pumped up...up front to see any knife type things going on hahaha.

Well this is what I saw. Before Demilich, there was an incident where some kid was on the ground, a couple of stomps from some other kids around him and it was over. During Demilich, it kicked off again (at the back of the pit) and swayed towards the back near the Deepsend Records store where I was. Couldn't see much except for someone laying motionless on the ground and another covered in blood. Everyone in the vacinity of the person on the ground were pointing at, who I presume, was the person responsible. Everyone involved left however I could see some carrying on out towards the exit. I didn't see a knife myself, but the amount of blood involved (and the fact I read on another board that the person was "stabbed in the face") suggested it.

Huh, thats fucking nuts! I was about to stab that damn near 7 foot tall jerk that was stage diving during Demilich.....I was getting pissed as fuck. I mean, the fucking guy stage dove head on with a lady with a broken arm. I really don't care if someone stage dives....but when you are the only one doing it, and you are that size...DON'T DO IT!!!
