Good idea guys, it would have been costly to send out demos to everyone.

cool, but people value something more when they pay for it. even if its 2 bucks for shipping

youve been in this business since before i was born. you know what youre doing, just throwing my idea out Good point and point taken. We have made this demo available at no cost because of exposure. We could have charged for this but it would reach less people. We havent had much time as a band to discuss or even think through some of the things we are doing which is a major mistake but you know how it is. Things will most likely change after the next recording in June. Btw thanks for being so generous..you can send us $5 in well concealed envelope C/O Gnostic..... :lo:

Yeah, the free demo cd started to hurt after a while. Just so many requests. That's why we did it this way. Like Sonny said, this will most likely change for the next demo. We'll see.

Yeah, the requests just become more than we could handle. I don't think we anticipated the response, requests, and such. There are just too many requests for the demo for us to fill. Even if people paid for them, we'd still need somebody to burn CDs, print, stuff envelopes, mail them, etc. With being so busy preparing for the studio (Gnostic) and the Atheist tours we're all up to our ears with things to do.

So, we figured that if we just put up high-quality MP3s people could just download them and burn their own CD's. I will put out an e-mail to everybody that requested a demo that is still waiting and will say in the e-mail that if they absolutely cannot download the songs onto an MP3 player or burn them to a CD that we'll send them a demo, so that way we may be able to manage the request load and people can still get the songs at their convenience. But, hopefully, most folks will be able to just download them and burn.

Probably nobody will want to do this, but we're also going to upload the artwork files so you can make a jewel case if you want.

Even though the whole sending out of demos must have been a pain in the ass it must be nice to see the demand is there. I for one really appreciated it.

hey man, i wanted to get this idea out there. you may have to pay for people downloading your stuff off the website (bandwidth)

if so, upload it in a .RAR or .ZIP file package to www.rapidshare.de or www.yousendit.com or www.megaupload.com and just post the link. im sure everybody would understand!!!!

Being in the US, the people that seek this kind of music appreciate it, believe me on that one. It's pretty depressing to see we've "outsourced" metal to the rest of the world and left talentless, record company roller coaster (http://www.youhavebadtasteinmusic.com/linkinpark.html) music to rule.

Back in the 80's and early 90's, every Long Island college radio station was playing metal, from prog, thrash, and speed, down to death. It was mainstream here. Then they were gone. Who's to blame? The corporate end of the music industry? The consumers? The artists?

Point is, I thought metal was dead towards the end of the 90's. When I found the sources holding the truly creative music, I was brought back into it.

So "free" makes me appreciate it even more.

I'm also stoked that the demand has steamrolled you guys. Obviously you all are onto something very good.

I enjoy that demo VERY often, as does everyone I play it for. GREAT stuff.

its different that you already have some established musicans in the band and even more importantly, that you have to request it. i was coming at this from a different angle. like it was a promo you were trying to get people to listen to, not send out to people who already want to hear it. and on that, i speak from personal experience. i hand burned like 15 cds last year with my old band and gave them away and didnt hear anything about it again, whereas if i sold it people would probably have given me some kind of feedback

/personal rant

by the way, im 17 and have some friends my age group who are very much into metal. college radio may have passed, but there are still young ones carrying the torch

That's the plan. As soon as Captain MetalDick gets to doing some actual work. He's our webmaster and had to be threatened just to get the MP3s online ;)

The bassplayer in Gnostic (Stephen Morley) is also MetalDick's brother. He's the one that did all the artwork and consequently has all the files and lives just minutes from MetalDick....yet somehow it takes MONTHS for an exchange like this to take place....even though they both have e-mail.... odd.

It'll be up soon...... it better!

I'll get to it as soon as I can guys. I've got paying gigs I'm trying to get through and I have to move this weekend :( yet at the same time :)

So it's not Gnostic's fault for the delay ...... ALL MINE. It will be up as soon as possible. Gnostic fucking pays me with Oreos, I mean I love Oreos but come on!
