i have exactly the same problem,i have played on my eleminators for over 2 years but i have never realy found the special "feeling",if the beater is tho close to the head i lose the power,if the the beater is further from the head i can't play fast enough,if i have the beater to close to the drum head i can't pull off cool drummrolls, and it is verry hard to do rols on the toms combined with the right and the left foot at the same time, the left pedal dosent deliver the power i want, plzzz give me some tips//tobias

I've got Pearl Eliminators aswell. I've played around with my configuration LOADS of times and have to come to rest with this setup:

Black cams.
The beaters' starting position is quite far back, bit more than 45degrees.
To compensate for the distance I use a very loose spring tension.
Heel rest as far back as it'll go.
Chain as far back around the cam as it'll come.
I also make the beater length/height as long as possible so I'm actually hitting a fair way above centre of the bass drum.

I know those aren't popular settings but I like them because it feels like the motion is even and I can actually feel something under my feet rather than making horrible little sharp jabs at the pedal when the beaters are close to the bass drum skin or the springs are on a tight tension. Give it a try? You'll probably hate it haha.
