was siiiiicckkkk. arsis fucking blew me away. necrophagist was obviouslyincredible but the dude (muhamed?) kinda seemed like a douchebag. some dude accidentaly crowd-surfed into his mic stand which fell on him while playing. then he was like "thanks for fucking up my guitar" with no sense of humor. also, he ended every song on the last note with a detah metal style "THANK YOU" which just kinda got cheesy by the 7th song. but don't get me wrong... amazing musicians, especially their bassist.

but arsis ruled my ass

1. i've seen alot of posts about this tour (lambgoat and other boards) and no one is really saying shit about arsis. i'm glad that someone finally admits that they fucking rule. their songs are more like compositions than "metal songs," which i really find amazing.

2. what kind of amps did necrophagist use? i saw some pics and couldnt tell if those were ENGL SE's or ENGL Savages.

neuraxis was pretty bad ass. the singer got everyone into it. alarum was fucking all over the place. i also thought the mandrake was pretty tight as well. i mean 6 bands for 15 bucks is pretty sweet.
i just thought arsis was untouchable. the lead guy (don't know his name) was even suffering from food poisoning from taco bell. thus begins the "fuck TB!" for the rest of the show. hilarious

i mean the fact that the dude from arsis is doing multiple finger taps while singing into sweeps and then headbanging is so impresive. plus the fact that necrophagist has no vocal ranges whatsoever. you right arsis is more than just "metal"

dustball and i got to talk to muhammad for a long time at metalfest, say 20 minutes or so. He really is the nicest musician i've ever met. Completely modest, if i didn't know he was in necrophagist i would have thought he was just an awesome dude from belgium.
Id be mad to if my mic stand fell into my guitar, especially when I was playing something as technical as the shit on epitaph, they're all about being the TIGHTEST fucking band on the planet, so fuck whoever crowdsurfed into him, (who the fuck crowdsurfs at a necrophagist show, just put on your metal face and hold up the horns)

All in all, i want to tour with those guys.
Oh, and he and the finnish dude play new ENGL Special Editions, just in. Theyre beautiful, and i want one when i get the doh. maybe trade in the dual.

i do agree about the gayness of crowd surfing (last time i did was in '96 at an offspring show). muhammed just didn't seem to brush it off... personally i would have handled it by stabbing the surfer in the juggular with that wicked BC rich he was playing!

Oh man was this show incredible. Venue was eh, but man, tight show. My brother's band was first, haha, they sort got blown out by the other bands. But man, Mr. Malone is an effing beast. That tapping/sweeping shit was crazy. Alarum was annoying, haha, but Neuraxis was amazing. That lead singer was freaking out, love that band. Unfortunately I couldn't stay for Necrophagist but still glad to see Arsis and Neuraxis.
