...but I'm not going to tell you what they played because I want you to be as surprised and excited as I was...BWAHAHAHA!

I caught the show in Lorain, Ohio last Saturday because I couldn't hit up the one in Detroit, Mi on Sunday. It all still seems kind of like a dream. It was a very, very small venue, which to me made it extra cool. The place was packed wall to wall with fans. The crowd wasn't very roudy, but I guess that doesn't surprise me at all. When you attend a show that has music played like this it's not usually to go in there and mosh and get roudy as hell, it's to watch the people actually play what they're playing and just soak it all in.

Arsis slayed!! It was more then I imagined it would be. Once upon a time I thought I would never get the opportunity to see this music played live on a stage just four feet in front of me. And there I was standing, hearing it...fucking brilliant!!! Arsis have massive energy, power, and intensity. And they have themselves some bad ass guys touring with them on guitar and bass. They palyed an awesome set, although ofcourse it was too short, I could have listened to them for hours up there (although I don't think the venue would have been happy with that). The guitar and bass could have been turned down a tad bit, they were a little overpowering the second guitar, drums and vocals. It wasn't devastatingly overpowering though, just noticeable. Thanks a ton guys for the bad ass set and for playing your asses off for us. You sure give it everything you have in you to give.

Neuraxis got held up at Customs so they weren't there, which really sucks because I was really looking forward to seeing them live.

Alarum played tight as hell, their bass player/vocalist definately has some mad skills. Seeing this stuff played live had more of an impact on me then it did hearing it on cd. It just felt more alive, had more life. But that can be said about all the bands that played.

And Necrophagist, DAMN. And to think I had wonders about this type of stuff being played live, wondering if the band could pull it off. They're all awesome musicians, and they were simply amazing. Every single note, every single rythm, melody, harmonic, every thing was held right in order. And again, watching this guy play bass was just killer. It musthave been hard to find a bass plyer that could sound good playing this stuff, actually adding his own part to the music. I'm still at awe. Seeing this sort of music played as tight as it was played was definately a mind blowing experience for me.

GO SEE THIS TOUR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just my thoughts.

I bet the "it" is A Diamond For Disease, All the songs of ACOG are pretty much understood since they played everyone of them on all their other tours. I really cannot wait to see this tour.

Yeah, but I have never seen them before so I could have meant anything!!!!!!! But the guy in the last post just ruined it...I tried to keep secretive. Man, it would have been very difficult to take pics in that place. The stage was along side the long wall that was also the main way to get to the back of the venue to the bathroom/bar, and left very little room to move around.

wow, when i heard ADFD i never thought it would be played live...

i almost went to the NE Metalfest, but I couldnt get a ride, or the money, so I didnt. My friend did though, and somehow missed Arsis, and when I asked him he was like "I swear Ive heard that name before." I was so mad, I would have LOVED the Arsis set Im sure. But he did see Necrophagist, and was like 4 people away from Mohamed. That would have been cool.

Id love to see A Diamond For Disease. It also suprises me how many people know of Necrophagist and such, but dont know about Arsis. Kind of dissappointing.

I also heard rumor that the black dahlia murder showed up in belly shirts and biking tights haha. Any truth to that Mike, or anyone else who went to New England's Metalfest?

They had 3 shirt designs: A tour shirt, a "Celebration" shirt, and a "Diamond" shirt, plus cd's and the vinyl.

From what I remember they played "A Diamond For Disease", 2 new songs, "Worship Depraved", "The Promise Of Never" and "The Face Of My Innocence"

They played one of the two songs I wanted to hear off of ACOG which was "The Sadistic Motives Behind Berevement Letters", which made me a very happy camper. The other one I wanted to hear but they didn't play was "Carnal Ways to Recreate The Heart". Which is ok, their set ruled none the less. ADFD ruled the day, I was so surprised for some reason.

All three of the t-shirt designes are badass, although the grey one really cool. The design on it was killer and it was cool to see a t-shirt in something other then black. but I only ahd the casht oget one so I chose the black one with the tour dates on it.
