I'm undecided. Sounds almost metalcorish though. It just doesn't seem as good as it seems like it should.
i take back the genius part, it's not as good as edge of sanity... but i still love it.
you just have to think of it like this: it's not Opeth.

Yeah, neither album had this lineup. First album was Akerfeldt on vocals + Swano on drums. Second album was Tatgren on vocals, Swano on guitar.
Speaking of Swano, has anybody heard his solo album, Moontower? One of my favorite Death metal albums of all time, it's basically 70s prog with death vocals, but not like Opeth. More...rockin'. This has got moog synths all over the place and shit.

I have Resurrection Through Carnage with Mike on vocals and it's awesome. Nice old school Swedish death.. the guitar tone is awful though, but I guess it's supposed to be. Bloodbath was actually kind of a joke band at first.. but I guess they've started getting serious.

I know it isn't Opeth, but to me it just isn't interesting. It seems like the legends that have been a part of this band should have been able to make something incredible, which Bloodbath, while enjoyable, is not.

I only have Nightmares Through Flesh, with Peter on vocals.
It isn't a fantastic album, but there is a few really catchy tracks.
Fav track is Eaten

did you really just say bloodbath sounds "almost metalcorish"?
they are a throwback to the early 90s swedish death metal scene (ala dismember, entombed).
fucking quality stuff. blackheim (katatonia) indeed plays guitar, the guy is a genius.

Holy shit. Moontower is definetely one of my favorite albums of all time. Dan Swano is such a god, man. Prog all the effing way.
And Bloodbath...:). Another one of my favorite bands. How can you not love Mikael/Peter with Dan Swano, Blakkheim, and Jonas Renske? Effing \m/ combination. I like Edge of Sanity and Opeth more, but man, talk about a supergroup.
