Nearly 2 years ago I was in my room playing on my computer. In the background I had the satelite TV playing the Metal station. In between the mundane annoying music I would hear a song that would catch my attention. After 4 or 5 times the song finally had my attention fully, so I go online to search for this great song. So I start searching for Green Carnation's "A distant calling" as that's what the satelite tv had it listed as. After considerable research I came to the conclusion that the song I heard was some edit and the full name of the song was LOD,DOD. I searched high and low for an mp3 before locating the full song on a low quallity mp3. 3 Days later the CD arrived at my house.

For nearly 1 year after that, the CD usurped it's way to being the only thing played in my car and at home. It became the background sounds of my life. The great diversity of the sound and pure artistic vision of this song compelled me to listen more. I got more use out of my home cd player over the next year than I did over the entire time I've owned it.

Eventually my searches for other mp3s yeilded results and I came upon an mp3 entitled, "Journey to the end of the night Part 1" and was once again awestruck. While in my opinion, the music wasn't as good as LOD,DOD...but it didn't have to be, it was different and wasn't on the same level. After hearing the song play through my computers the last thing I expected to hear was the beautiful vocals of an angel. Even after knowing what she was saying, still the lyrics uplifted me. Determined I set out searching for this album and found it for sale used on amazon.com from Germany. It took about a month to ship out here and set me back more than any normal cd would cost me...but it was ok because the second I put in the cd I knew it was worth ever cent I paid. I noticed the subtle simularities between LOD,DOD and track 3, My Dark Reflections of life and death. I was alone the day the cd came, so I was rattling the windows with it. When track 7, End of Journey, it sounded strikingly familiar and it seemed like a continuation to track 5. I was in love with this album.

And now it starts again with Rain. I haven't had time or money to purchase A Blessing in Disguise, but I most definately will. And now I see that a DVD is out, I shall scour the internet and purchase it next payday and go back to waiting for the new album and hope for a live album.

Green Carnation, I thank you for bringing such awe inspiring music into my life. For this, I am truely grateful. If you are ever in Southern California, you will definately have my ticket.

P.S. sorry for boring everyone. If you die and i'm around, i'll make sure they spend 5 extra minutes trying to revive you to make up for it.
