The guy who's been really getting my dick hard (lol) lately is Peter Wildoer from Darkane.
I love his machine-gun style of kick drumming (the 'Lie scattered...' chorus at 1:02 in "Contaminated" comes to mind)...Very solid and explosive. he comes up with some fucking ridiculous, solid fills (The whole 'solo thing he pulls at :23 in "The Creation Insane"...RIDICULOUS.)...And I absolutely love how he utilizes a secondary snare, and quite often! How many metal drummers do you see pulling that? He's always hitting the bells of cymbals too, which is rad. Ugggghhh, I think Darkane, with the release of Layer Of Lies, might be in my like top 5 metal bands ever, haha.
Here's a short video of Peter messing around with said 'solo' of sorts for The Creation Insane in the studio. Pretty righteous, I must say.

Peter is an awesome drummer and a very nice guy. He speaks German fluently, met him at a gig back in the days. Sadly, I have to say that I don't like Layers of Lies. There are three good songs on it, the rest pretty much sucks for me. Sure, drumming's solid, but Insanity and even Expanding Senses are sooo much better.

I would have been stoked to see that) Martin Lopez from Opeth, Flo Mounier from Cryptopsy.....So many I could name. There's also this dude name Bobby Jarzombek who's DVD I just bought. He's money too.
There are video's on his website, http://www.bobbyjarzombek.com

that's because the drumming isn't human. i love dechristianize, but the [bass] drumming on that CD was edited.. a LOT. dave suzuki is a very talented dude, but he can't even come close to replicating that footwork live. even tim yeung can't.. when i saw them live with him on drums, the double bass sounded horribly lagging and out of time. his hands were spot on, though.

i seen a vid of vital remains, and you could mainly just hear the bass drum over the PA and it was booming into the mic. and it was so hard to listen to, cause it was so off. i was really surprised that he was that horrible.
most drumming gets edited for various reasons.

i'm not a huge christy fan. definitely a talented guy but doesn't hold a candle to sean reinert and gene hoglan in terms of playing death material. it's also tough to respect someone who barely respects his own drumming career. if you've ever heard him on the howard stern show (what he's doing nowadays), you'd know what i mean.

Meshuggah are amazing.
Listen to the section after it goes all mellow with that weird twangy guitar in "I" and see if you can follow this notation my friend and I came up with for it. The numbers indicate the snare hits, there seems to be a pattern for a while.. but then it sorta goes all random.
