I haven't heard much of them, if hardly anything, what do you all think about them?

You have to get all of the albums. Some will say, that their last good album was Path of the Weakenig, but all of them are great. Can't wait for the new one this year man.

What band would you say is most closely resembled by them?

InvoluntarySlaughter

That's kind of a hard one. In fact, I don't know if anyone really sounds like them at all. Certain bands use their style of riffing, but no one is like 100% like Deeds, except for Deeds.

It's kind of weird i've never really even heard of them at all until you mentioned them to me last night, do they have a forum?

InvoluntarySlaughter
03-19-2006, 06:28 PM
Actually no, they don't have a forum. I know for a fact that SMN has asked them numerous times, but they don't have one.

Jordan5
03-19-2006, 06:30 PM
Dang, we need a place to discuss them! Do you know how to get in contact with them?

InvoluntarySlaughter
03-19-2006, 06:34 PM
Well, I've talked to Erik (Guitarist/Vocalist) before. Twice actually. I saw him in Los Osos once, and then I ordered something off of U.L. and it was backordered, so he called me to let me know. Other than that, you can check the U.L. website or the Deeds one, and e-mail them.

Jordan5
03-19-2006, 06:34 PM
Alright good deal dude. I can make them a forum but it'd be cool to make it official.

Jordan5
03-19-2006, 06:36 PM
Actually I have a real good idea for one.

InvoluntarySlaughter
03-19-2006, 06:36 PM
Yeah man, you can try it. Though sometimes, they won't get back to you. Just letting you know in case.

Jordan5
03-19-2006, 06:38 PM
I'm not sure how I should go about emailing them.

InvoluntarySlaughter
03-19-2006, 06:41 PM
What do you mean?

Jordan5
03-19-2006, 06:43 PM
Well i'm not sure what to say to them.

InvoluntarySlaughter
03-19-2006, 06:48 PM
Just be like, "Hey bros, what's up? I wanted to ask you guys about possibly having a forum. Many people have been dying to see one up, and it'd mean a lot to the fans." Some b.s. like that.

Jordan5

InvoluntarySlaughter

sorry to be the one to spoil the latest meeting of the unofficial Deeds Of Flesh fanclub, but I don't know what it is about the band they just bore me stupid.
Not remotely unique or interesting enough for me...

InvoluntarySlaughter
03-19-2006, 07:31 PM
Well, the comment I made on the Morbid Angel thread about Surt knowing what he's talking about, I take that back. Haha, to each their own man.

Fly Shrine is a good song...

other than that I don't really dig the death metal played through dusty bacon in a hoover sound they produce.

Also may i congratulate you on creating a forum for a band which you had never heard before.

well done.

Deeds of Flesh - Crown of Souls

Mike Hamilton - Drums
Jacoby Kingston - Bass/Vocals
Erik Lindmark - Guitar/Vocals

Wow! this is fucking AMAZING! The color use really jumps out of the paper; the subtle use of green makes the rest of the work seem brighter and illuminate. It looks so surreal but it grabs the person's attention, especially with the shadow work, piece emerges into three dimensional character and the way the the souls are flowing from the head of the creature gives it a certain fluidity that it seems organic and rich unlike 99% of these day's photoshop covers. Those large haunting eyes in the background reminds me of Tool's 'Aenima', it's so well done that I swear they move just like in Tool's 3D "eye" cover. And unlike the person who did the previous works, this time its not half-assed with air-brushed choppy over priced colored tattoo work on a cd sleve. Such an eye candy! I can't stop staring at it, its so hypnotically beautiful. If you love Seagrave's artwork, you would totally enjoy this.

Oh right, I forgot, this is a Deeds of Flesh album...uh...it's been a month since I had this and I never really listened to it, I don't really want to review it cuz I know they suck. They suck real fucking hard. Fucking boring. I don't mind predictable music, but this is just down-right horrible. But since I paid $10.00 for this, I might as well put it on and see if its anything new....

....ok that's :45 seconds of my life that I can never have back, that seemed like an eternity. I swear I thought I was gonna fall into a comatose. People who listens to this has high tolerance for the BORING....fuck, I just found out that the first :45 seconds was just an intro! FUCK THAT! I'm not gonna lose anymore of my precious time listening to actual Deeds of Flesh recording!

If you're looking for something that would help you sleep but without the side-effects of hallucinating (ie ambien), check this out...wait, wait, wait...*sigh* no, it does have a side effect: a prolong induced comatose might become a permanent damage and form into a malignant tumour.

I wish they had a poster instead of the cancer inducing plastic disc.

If I may throw in my Two cents:

It took me a LOOO-NG time to get into Deeds Of Flesh. It always seemed to be lost on me, which is a criticism that often gets aimed at them. I can honestly say that after what seemed like forever, an album clicked: "Aha, I get it!" y'know that kinda bullshit. The album in question is "Mark of the Legion" which I endorse. The "Gradually Melted" EP is also a good place to start. A bud seemed to nail them for me- a bunch of extreme technical musicians that play technical DM for each other. If you like it, great... if not, whatever.

As you probably know, even if you hate this band, they are important to the underground for founding the Unique Leader record label, which has given us many a fine band.
On that note Cheers to Deeds and UL, a load of cds and a Spawn Of Possession top finally arrived in the post. YES!!

average...

I don't particularly think much of them anyway but IMO - and that of other people I spoke to - they were "impressive for 1 or 2 songs but just dull after that".

TBH I'm fucking gutted that I had to leave to get the last train before i heard more than one of Monstrosity's songs... by and large as they were who I was most looking forward to seeing, plus there was just something that sparked in you hearing them live that didn't really happen when the others were playing. I was pretty tired though as I'd only had about 5 or 6 hours kip on Monday night.

Nice one Surt, Awesome pic too! It currently looks like I can to Blighty soonest. I think it's good as it's off season and most holidaymakers won't be around. So far I know the Malevolent Creation, Disgorge (US) and Skinless show has been lined up for this period. Apparently things are slow gigwise at the end of the year. Therefore SOMETHING shoul turn up in Sept.

True?

hmm...

well to be honest, it's dependent more on what's happening in the music world.

in 2005 i went to at least a gig a month - excluding February, July and December - with only two of those dates being outside in Birmingham/ London (2 biggest cities).
There's usually a lot more gigs happen in London than there does in the rest of the country thanks to a lot of moron bands thinking that touring the UK is the same as just playing one single date in the bottom right hand corner of the country.

Last year i had... January (1), February (0), March (2), April (2), May (2), June (1), July (0, i think), August (1), September (2, could have gone to 3), October (2), November (1) and December (0).

So yeah, it's more wise to keep your eyes on who's releasing albums or touring mainland Europe around that time.

Suffocation are headed this way towards the end of the year though to support the new album so that's at least one bonus.

I wouldn't get your heart set on Disgorge playing though as they've cancelled like two or three Euro tours so far (Obscene Extreme, the tour with Internal Suffering/Incinerate/Emeth which then imploded)... yet still managed to then tour Australia and Asia.
