Yeah, those powertabs are pretty accurate, but some parts are blatantly wrong. Those are your best bet though. You're not gonna realize the parts are wrong until you learn the power tabs well and listen to the songs again.

They don't have Million Exploding Suns up, but here's an explanation on how to play the intro plus the first verse:

For the whole intro riff, I use my pointer fingers and my ring fingers. That's all you need the entire time. Well except for the last little... modulation of the riff... but uh... yeaaah. The notes are F-D-A-D, F-D-A-D, F-D-A-D repeating and F-D-G-D when you hear it change. The trick to this is your pointer fingers will both be playing the D for the whole thing, you just alternate hands. Writing this out, I realize how confusing it is to explain in words, and would be much easier if I just put up a video, but... your RIGHT HAND does F-D and your LEFT HAND does A-D. Remember both pointer fingers are on the D, so even though what Erik is playing sounds kinda fast/difficult, it's actually really easy. And actually if your left ring finger can't reach, it's just as easy to use the pinky. So yeah, your fingers are going back and forth, down and up the keyboard, F-D-A-D.

F = right ring finger
D = right pointer
A = left ring or pinkey
D = left pointer

F being the highest note, D being in the middle (remember both of your pointers are on THE SAME D) and the A being the lowest. After the drums kick in, the riff just modulates (I know that's probably not the right music theory term... eh... I don't know) up the keyboard, but it's generally the same riff, just different notes. I'm actually not positive on the some of it but uh... Here's the lay-out of all the notes the way I play it:

F D A D x4
G E C E x2
A F D F x2
(for the next three patterns, change your fingers so that it feels comfortable to play)
Bb G F G x4
A G F G x2
A G E G x2

After that, play the same thing, but up an octave.
And after THAT, Erik does some crazy fast triplets back and forth between the two higher notes and the low note, using the same chords above, and going up an octave again like before.

Sorry, if any of you even know what a keyboard looks like, it probably sounds like I'm teaching a retard how to play it. But if any of you really have any questions on how to play it, just ask... it does kinda sound confusing, but it's actually easy once you learn the notes and shiiit.

Looking at the live video on YouTube though, it doesn't really look like I'm playing it the way Erik is playing it, so I might be totally wrong...

i figured out how to play the keyboard part during the breakdown in custman, its really easy. i dont know much about pianos/keyboards at all so im just going to list the order of the notes
DFDFDFAA DFDFDF A
i dont know how to denote which octaves they are or whatever, but the A is not the same octave as D and F, its on the next higher one. also the second time its played, you only play A once, just listen to the song and youll know what i mean.
hopefully this made sense.

i also have a request, does anybody know how to play that awesome synth riff in A Million Exploding Suns like 1:53 into the song?

yea.
here's the i just figured it out version,
as opposed to the professional version that probably involves other notes.
try this:
DFEDC DFEDC and over and over.
play it til your heart's content.

There's a link to a recording I did of Black Hole. I'm too lazy to explain how to play it... it would be a lot easier if I could make a video recording and put it up, but I don't have a webcam or nothin'. It's pretty accurate. I mess up sometimes. But I know it's a lot easier to learn a part when it's by itself, so... good luck. Near the end I give up. The beginning up until the tempo change is recorded to a metronome... even though that probably doesn't matter or mean anything.

Does anyone have any accurate guitar tabs for horse, other than the ones posted on ultimate-guitar. They are pretty accurate but alot of parts bother me. If anyone has any tabs you have that are accurate please private message me them or post them as I would appreciate it.

What kind of keyboard does they use?

if i'm not mistaken, he uses a Korg MS2000.
at least that's what i saw on a live pic.

best setting to play any of their stuff on the MicroKorg is:
Retro Setting, Side B, Program No. 5 maybe one octave up
that's normally what i play them on.

by the way, if you gots Tabit, they have 3 tabs posted:
Immense Defecation, CUTSMAN, and Soaring Quails.
All are pretty accurate.
Cutsman takes alot of practice.
but nevertheless, they do have that one up now.

Yeah the Cutsman piano parts are difficult for any level of keyboardist. Me and my girlfriend are playing Horse songs (Guitar and Keyboard), and she throws the keyboard in frustration much like Erik does in the Lord Gold Video, not for the same reason though.

Again, if anyone has any guitar tabs for Horse the Band that aren't currently up in common places like Ultimate-Guitar, I would extremely appreciate it. I'm a full time student and have a part time job and one of the only joys I get is from playing horse stuff. Thanks in advance.
