How does the new album compare to their earlier work? Is it as good as WOC?

it's utter fucking shite.

that's a load of balls. I've defended Decapitated to the hilt before now, regarding Nihility & The Negation, but Organic Hallucinosis is just fucking shite.

Contrary to some of the tr00 people out there, I'm not blaming Covan in the slightest for it as I can easily tell he's a good vocalist - just not suited to the Decapitated style we'd all come to know.

Personally the only redeeming features whatsoever for me are the solos.

Don't waste your money on OH. You'll only regret it.

sorry surt...ill rephrase....i am a fan of the band and i like the new cd....i guess if you do like a band for the right reasons and they make a cd that is in the same vein as their other ones...maybe not as good...maybe better...but still along the same lines then i dont see a reason not to at least appreciate what they are doing...its not like they went totally left of what they were already doing..its just a little more accessable now with covan and they have gone for a deathy meshuggah vibe...nothing wrong with that.

Man, I'm someone who used to pretty much instantaneously like anything Decapitated that i heard - part of which was probably psycho-somatic - and I've defended them passionately for the last few albums up until now as i genuinely liked what i was hearing and could make out it's good points.

Organic Hallucinosis has just lost that edge I felt Decapitated had in you being able to pretty much instantly tell who it was, now making them sound far more average bland and generic. As for the riffing? It's one thing having an influence from Meshuggah or whatever, but the fact of the matter is the only band that can sound like Meshuggah and get away with doing it at all well are Meshuggah. If they're trying to blend Meshuggah style patterns into death metal... well, they're going to need a hell of a lot of effort and technique above their capabilities IMO.

guess if you do like a band for the right reasons and they make a cd that is in the same vein as their other ones...
Well i don't think you'll disagree with the fact that each of the first three had different sounds to the extent of being able to immediately spot which album a song was from. If anything 'Organic Hallucinosis' has become symptomatic of mediocre average death metal as opposed to the higher level I'd come to expect of Decapitated.

I don't think you can entirely blame Covan for the "more accessible" aspect either, as to my ears none of the songs instantly leap off the cd and grab your attention. Covan to be honest is one of the few things I can't fault really on this record, as he's more than a competent vocalist IMO, just he seems like a fish out of water against the type of bland music he's singing over.

Just heard stuff from the new album.

Still the same super-fast bits... then stop for a half a second - then go fast again. Ah, how predictable. And the vocals suck, whsat happened to Sauron??

Boring.

He left and got replaced by Covan who switched from Atrophia Red Sun (some gay pseudo-BM band).

You can't really compare the records because they're totally different.
