Hey dudes, I love this band... using over repeated hyberbole, this has to be one of the most technical, downright fucking brutal bands I've ever heard! I cannot wait for the debut album by Unmerciful, which includes Origin alumni, least of all Jeremy Turner, who simply shreds. \m/
Any of you guys know what the official deal is with Origin now? Have they broken up? That would be a shame, because I love " Echoes of Decimation," a record which I've gone back to recently and just cannot stop playing!
Of course I liked it at first because the band is ridiculously fast and technical, but this is when of those cases that when the music sinks in, you begin to realise just how insane it is. As a non musician who loves music and admires its practitioners, I think I'm safe in saying that Origin are a band of highly skilled musicians making DM for other musicians; if others can get into it, then they're lucky. the songs just kill you at first and sound very similar, but when you start making out the unique features, it's magic.
I especially like the thematic content of their concept, songs and lyrics: the apocalyptic, deep space, transdimensional sci-fi atmosphere is VERY COOL and fresh.
I dig all of "Echoes" but standout tracks for me would have to be:
Reciprocal
Cloning The Stillborn
Debased Humanity
The Burner
Endless Cure
Echoes Of Decimation
Are there Origin fans on here? Please share your admiration and thoughts on these intergalactic devestators, such as why you like them and which is your favourite album.
Ok, have at you!! :D

Currently it's just Mike, Paul and James. They're looking for a drummer and a guitarist. John Longstreth (the drummer on Informis, Infinita, Inhumanitas) said that he might do it if they ask him to. That's all I (and probably everyone else except the band) know.
And I'm waiting for the Unmerciful album, it will (hopefully) be some heavy winnage. ;D

Cool, thanks Tony. Again, all the best to you and the ravaging horde of Unmerciful! :beerchug: Now along with some possibly dubious power metal, I'll tide myself over with Gorgasm's "Masticate To Dominate" until your album comes out... :D

Man that's exactly how i'm feeling about their music but for fuck's sake.. Go listen "Informis Infintas Inhumanitas" NOW!! - that's the real deal Origin insanity. Like deep space, intergalactic crazy noise and all that stuff, absolutely in-fucking-fuman. Much more crazy and over-the-top than the new album.
Anyway you described their music perfectly, i couldn't have done it better although that's exactly how i'm feelin too. Hails \M/

Johnny you flatter me (and I hope you know I listen to Sonata Arctica!)... thank you very much! Always great to talk and debate with metalheads who actually know what the fuck is going on. Unlike the bulk of plankton on blabbermouth. I'll get on "III" ASAFP.
What other forums have I spied you on? Aborted? Pig Destroyer? If so, cheers to you for good taste!

Well, at the Disgorge gig on the weekend, they had Echoes going every time inbetween bands. I swear I heard Reciprocal about 20 times. I don't think I'll be listening to this album for a long time. Fucken gigs...

Hey Cloaca. You're not pissed off with me 'cos we took you out for the cricket and the Commonwealth swimming, I hope! ;) Better luck next time!
But I'm stoked because... last night I finally got my copy of "She Lay Gutted."
Fucking YES!!! :chainsaw:
So...you obviously enjoyed that. What you think of the speech at the end of Revelations XVIII? You really need to get Consume and Parallels. The riffing is so fucking amazing. I'm serious man. Go to their board and look at the vid that Cloaca posted up. Diego and the boys are madmen!

Involuntary, that album is just KILLING me! :emot-eek: Unfuckingbelievable.
It's still early days where I'm getting on top of the chaos, but it is exhilirating. I've been mixing up my musical listening of late (jazz, country/folk, old indie etc.) and this also applies to the metal: I'd gotten so much top quality brutal DM that I've been taking little breaks with things like Iron Maiden, 1st album VoiVod, Disfear and its been great.
Disgorge, like an immortal slasher flick killer, shows that the sickness has returned. To me they have a solid dose of modern DM hypertechnicality (not too technical, it keeps things direct enough for people to go nuts at gigs I assume) and speed and bludgeoning force to please the fans of ultrasick DM/goregrind acts like Waco Jesus. :hbang32en
The vocals, music, lyrical content and John Zig artwork constitutes puking and shitstreaming of the most painful order. As Cloaca once said, Matti Way is one of the most brutal cunts to be committed to record. His uncompromising vox reminded me of the spirit of Chris Barnes circa "TOTM" and Will Rahmer of Mortician, but somehow even more ravaging and murderous.
I'm loving all the songs, but at this early stage "Revelations," "Sodomize the Bleeding," title track are lighting my fire, look forward to many repeated listens. Thanks for encouragement dudes, I'm a fan now.

You bet man. I'm trying to plan a trip to my best mate/metal guru in London this year... I'll look for the albums there. OK time to be industrious, rap soon- take it easy.
And if you're at a gig dudes and you see a short neat dude with dark short hair, sideburns, rectangular specs, blue jeans, trainers in a Napalm Death t-shirt... he is not some emo/crap hardcore kid, do not beat him up.
That's me and if you're pleasant I'll buy you a beer. :D
