Hello Evreyone,

My name is IbanezJFS im new here And, after from seeing all of this all I have to say is WOW!!! I didnt think Atheist Pandamonium would be this huge. I have all 3 Atheist CDs, The Box Set, and the T-shirt. I didnt know about Atheist until I became great friends with Kelly (I usually dont brag about it but, thats how I found out about Atheist...He told me). But, im glad that Atheist is going back out cuz, I gotta hear this sh!t LIVE. ESPECIALLY AIR. Thats 1 of my all time favorite songs. Its a sad shame what Happend to Roger. May he Rest In Peace (And now for a moment of silence)....................In Loveing Memory of Roger Patterson. So tell me. How long have you guys known Atheist???

Nearly as long as they've had the major releases... I was into bands like Disciples of Power, Kreator, Death, Obituary etc in the late 80s/early 90s... Atheist blew me away, A guy from a local Halifax (Nova Scotia Canada) band turned me on to them and Carcass. When you don't have access to good press and concerts sometimes word of mouth was the only way to find out about bands... Todays fans have it much easier than the "tape traders" in the old days... the internet is a wonderful thing to discover tons of new music. Incidentally the Halifax band was rather Atheist styled and named Entrafis, a fan put up a website with one of the demos in mp3 format along with some other info which you can check out here: http://www.geocities.com/entrafis_mp3/ (I think it has bandwidth restrictions... so first come will get them sooner, the rest will have to wait lol)

Any ways, welcome, glad you found Atheist, better late than never!

I read a review of their demo in Metal Forces (I think - long time ago) and bought "Piece Of Time" as soon as it came out.

my buddy sent me unquestionable prescence on the internet. i couldn't belive what i heard...everything about it man. i know it sounds cliche but i then had to own them all. i got a real copy of the original Piece of Time from vintagevinyl but downloaded the rest untill the reissues when i ordered them all. i couldnt be happier with the UP rerelease personally, the sound is perfect now and all the demos with patterson are such an amazing testament to him

its everything i think metal should be. and that includes kelly who from what i've seen seems to be an honest and open guy ,not a tough guy metal head like so many of the people in the scenes. he seems to love what he does (did) and likes people which just makes me love the music even more

I'm probably new compared to a lot others.. actually I got into them shortly after the re-issues came out. I listened to a few songs a long time ago and didnt care for them...(dont know which) Then a few months later someone I asked someone for more clips to give them another shot- I heard Elements, Piece of Time and I think Mother Man, then I was hooked..

Have been listening to them since 1991. I was in 9th grade. :lo:

Just picked up the Unquestionable Presence re-release. Finally upgraded from my tape!

We played the title track on the latest episode of MSRCAST.

First I actually read from the Bassist of death site, i've been looking for that site for the past year but It has obviously been taken away. THe samples there didnt really catch my interest, but somewhere I heard I should really check them out, so I did and got into Atheist.

WhoCares this Entrafis stuff is AWESOME.

there is more than what's there, altho most of it never made it off demo tapes recorded in the rehearsal room... ah those were the days... I have some of it somewhere, albeit still on cassette... I even have some pics I took at one of their gigs... :D

They were like the hometown Atheist to me...

Ok I know this is an old thread, just thought I'd mention I had setup an Entrafis fan site of my own a while ago, and if anyone is looking for mp3s I have the granville st demos (live) and the Into Out demo (studio) up for download, as well as a little interview with Jake Evans.

The bass player for this awesome thrash/crossover band Funerot (myspace.com/funerot I think) and I were talking about metal when he was DJing a local party. At the time I was just getting into more underground stuff– I had recently discovered and become fascinated with the primal might and mystique of Celtic Frost and would soon become obsessed with Voivod. But he knew I played bass and asked if I'd ever heard Atheist. When I told him no, he just shook his head. "Dude...you gotta get Piece of Time! Roger Patterson is fucking amazing." Soon, I had a lil' collection of downloaded MP3s- Limewire was the only way at that time. If I recall, however, it wasn't more than a year before the reissues came out and I grabbed them in a bit of a reverse order- Elements, PoT, and then UP. I was a fool and not into vinyl when the boxed set was released, but then snatched all three pic disks right up. I still consider meeting, interviewing, hanging out with and watching the reunion lineup play as one of the best times of my life.
