So, what does anyone know about this insane instrument. Is it commercially sold or was it custom made for him? What does it cost? Does any other band use it? This thing amazes me. I would LOVE to get my hands on it for half an hour and just rock the fuck out with that beast!

They are expensive. I'd like to get one to mess around with, but if you end not liking it, then you end wasting all that money. and I'm sure it's harder to sell than a normal guitar, since I don't see as many 'Warriors' out there.

I'm really hoping I just coined that 'warrior' term.

they are in a strange tuning i know that. its definetely not related to the way a guitar is tuned i believe. so be prepared for something crazy.

They have chapman sticks with bass models like that too.

sean malone uses one sometimes. another guy who plays the warr is trey gunn (gunn, warr :)).

i think these instruments are only for people who are living in symbiosis with their bass. and since it is played mostly with tapping, you should have at least ten years practice with a stringinstrument. (hmm, im not sure if thats true, but it sounds convincing to me :) )

i had an eight string bass for about a year, and although i could play it pretty well, to fully learn it inside out, indeed i would have had to take a year or two off work and not go anywhere either.. so i can only imagine what something like this would need.

the man from king crimson is brilliant on it.. i did a 13 hour king crimson marathon the other day listening to all the cds i've got of them, and a couple of the albums you can very much here has influenced BTA...
