Yep, Throcult is amazing. Also check out Summon. Another band that no one has mentioned is Excommunion. They were a black/death band, but aweseome none-the-less. Christbutcher is now in Dethroned. Agiel is now black metal, and they're new stuff is awesome. Check it out here: www.myspace.com/wrathofagiel

How about Twilight? I think all of its contributers main bands have been mentioned but not this great side project! .
Crimson Moon!!!!! I cant say it enough! Check this band out, www.crimsonchamber.com
Overall I consider some Leviathan releases to be some of the best black metal to ever be created! Verrater, Howl Mockery.. 10 Sub Level..., any material you can get your hands on really!
Most of the other titles already mentioned are quite worthy aswell!
Have a look at www.fmp666.com forums for more information on USBM

Nokturne for sure, although goodluck finding anything by them or seeing them..They tend to stay very very low key.
Not exactly Black Metal but, Vesperian Sorrow and Sothis, as well. Not big on Sothis but, Vesp is pretty sweet.

Hmm, Im suprised youve actually heard of them since their really just a small band from LA. Its not really an issue seeing them live in southern california. Ive seen them 4 times in the past year (5 times this Sunday!). They dont have a website nor a myspace but its still quite easy to get in contact with them or their label for CDs and shirts. They actually just released a new split CD last month and a live DVD w/1349 a few months ago, you know. Anyway, they deserve the support. Great local band!!!
Here is a live clip Physco (vocals) posted on youtube. Enjoy!...

I would third the mention of Weakling and second the mention of Wolves in the Throne Room.
EDIT: I am really surprised that this is my first post. I have been lurking since the time that the Mayhem forum was here.

you should definitely check out 'ordog', it's the weirdest thing black funeral has done, in fact, it's weird by almost anyone's standards.
fucking great though!
out of the ones mentioned, i'd second averse sefira, xasthur, and add in bone awl, some of their stuff is pretty good.
hugely definitive list and recommendations on this list
