What is your favorite Disgorge song or album?

I really like the song Consume the forsaken, awesome shit. And Matti Way on Cranial Impalement, how sick can vocals get huh?

For album, it's hard because the riffing really stands out on Parallels, and the vocals are amazing, but you have a classic in Consume. So, it's a tie between them. And as for song, Manipulation of Faith for Consume, Enthroned Abominations for Parallels.

For its time, that would have been a fucking sick release.

Anyway, I'm also in the "can't decide between CTF and POIT" group. POIT has the slightly better riffage, but CTF has the better vocals. In the end I think I like POIT just a tiny bit more, but it doesn't matter, these are easily two of the best albums I have ever heard.

As for songs, my favourites would be:

POIT: Enthroned Abominations, Descending Upon Convulsive Devourment, Parallels Of Infinite Torture, Asphixiation Of The Opressed

I am a huge Disgorge fan ( haven't seen them live to be honest, couln't make it when they were in the Netherlands :mad: )

I don't have a favourite album actually, they all sound very different, but they are all cool.
My favourite song is definetly: Consume the Forsaken, followed by Derranded Epidemic.

We all know how you are introduced to Cranial Impalement: A sewer sound which turns out the be the vocalist. And it is his real voice. I was very shocked and amazed about the vocals. The sickest I have heard in my entire life :devil:

Actually those are 3 different singers:
SLG- Matti Way (I wonder if his first name relates him to a Finnish heritage???)
CTF- AJ Magana

They're all great vocalists. Matti was more as some people call it "toilet bowl" than AJ and Levi. And AJ and Levi are very similar to each other.

I think Parallels is an overall better CD, but I prefer the vocals on Consume just a tad more.

Matti has great "gurgle" growels (which is where the "toilet bowel" reference comes in) but he can be very clear when he wants too.

A.J. is by far my favorite, he layers so many vocal tracks in their songs off "CTF" it's just fuckin unreal (all kinds of different brutal vocal changes). He's got a lot of power behind his growel, more then Matti in my opinion. By far my favorite BRUTAL death metal vocalist.

Levi is like A.J.'s little brother, lol. His vocals are VERY powerful and more decipherable (sp?) then the previous 2. For having to fill the shoes of their previous vocalist's, he's done a fine job IMO.

It's hard to find a band who has had 3 different singers and honetsly say that every singer one of Disgorge's vocalists are great. Every Disgorge has their favorite vocalist and no one really argues who's the best cause their all great... But A.J. is still my favorite.

I think it would be a trip if all 3 vocalists did the next Disgorge CD. It won't ever happen but could you imagine if it did?

My vote would have to go to Cranial Impalement. Not just for Matti's vocals but I also prefer the riffing style and song structures, still technical but not as over the top as it would become on later albums.

The only way it could have been better would be if the second half was recorded in the same session as the first half.

Disgorge are one of the few DM bands that have shifting lineups that are potent in each configuration. Each album has so much to admire.

for me, consume the forsaken was the first album i heard from them, and it made my head explode, so im gonna have to go with that one. they are all amazing though, poit and she lay gutted are close behind. for song, though, consume/demise of the trinity/descending upon convulsive devourment

Oh yes this one is really hard to answer...but i think POIT wins with its share of brutality and the riffs are so obscure and dissonant and with a Disgorge album of over 40 min. ...its like a dream come true!!But Consume is not far behind, really dark and brutal!!! Disgorge has a definite style that no one can match.These 2 albums is in my best albums of all time, there is so much replay value AWESOME!!

Fuck Yeah! Finally someone!!! I love the mix of ultra primitive riffing with those ultra crazy almost jazzy basslines. Also how they mixed the basslines out in this trashy way.

I love that album cause there´s such a strong contrast between ultra dull rhythms and total egghead Suffocation compexity. That mix is so unique, and those vocals with these children´s songs rhythms give it such a macabre feeling, even more after you know they can do the most intricate structures as well....

Nothing can beat Cranial, but Disgorge kept their quality for at least 2 albums and will always keep it, I guess.
