Gotta go with whisper. The riffs and songwriting are just perfect, and very brutal. Alot of people put this down because of Mike`s vocals, but I got used to them after awhile. I really wish more people would actually give this a chance. It`s also very weird listening to this after none so vile, Whisper is much more technical, seems like they improved alot as musicians. Best tracks: Emaciate, Loathe, White worms, Faceless unknown, Flame to the surface.
Oh, and I bet None so vile will win this poll.

Whisper Supremacy
Same as above - Whisper rules!

Whisper Supremacy all the way. Pure genius musicianship. In my opinion it's also the most brutal album in the history of music. That's not what makes it the best, but it counts nevertheless :).
I love all Cryptopsy albums by the way. My second favorite would be "Blasphemy Made Flesh" but i'm not sure.

Whoa, I always liked WS.. I recall a time when a dude said he would shit down the throat of anyone who went with a DiSalvo album. That seemed like a very common train of thought, but here WS is leading in this poll. an underrated classic perhaps?
That was that s.Reinert dude, I believe. He's got no clue anyways. I can't choose between the four good albums Cryptopsy has put out.

Oh yeah that's right! he's entitled to his opinion of course. Some cunt posted on the CC board that the band was absolute shit, couldn't play their instruments and should listen to "real" music like Led Zeppelin.
Alex Webster simply replied with a laughing emoticon and "That's right, I'm gonna throw away all my death metal albums and get the entire Led Zeppelin backcatalogue!"
Now that is Pure. Fucking. Class. Grace and humour in the face of stupidity. You're the man Alex. :emot-wors
I remember that in an interview Alex Aurburn said Mike used to check the message book on the Cryptopsy site and read all the negative comments from the hardliners and that it really used to upset him. :1pissed: Now that's beyond the pale! If you have to voice a criticism directly to an actual member of the band, at least voice it tactfully!
I'm glad to see that a lot of fans are coming out and saying that they have their personal faves and find good stuff on each album. Remember, it was the band's decision to pursue their own direction and be true to what they wanted to do. And you have to respect that!
Unless you are Slayer or In Flames. :D

Damn, that sucks for Mike. He should come here and read now, so he could see that Whisper is getting many votes.

Hard choice, WS i must say is #1 for me, just the sheer brutal slap in the face of Cold Hate, Warm Blood...it set the precident for me in this form of heavy metal music. I heard this c-d before NSV, BMF, so i guess i have a weakness for it, althought i must say, OWN is a bee's dick away from #1 my choice!!

Yeah "Cold Hate Warm Blood" is one of their mandatory classics. Mike lays down the law on the album version, and Martin does a stunning live performance on NSL.
Ohkay, I see NSV just slipped into the lead by a narrow margin. Hell Cryptopsy is one of the few bands where I think each album can have fans that choose it as their favourites. Nice to see OWN is getting support.
Also megakult for choosing UE!!I still need to get that!

Gotta go with None So Vile.
I want to listen to some cryptopsy, but my headphones broke last night. Sucks.

Whisper Supremacy.
Seems like im the only one who prefers Ungentle Exhumation .....
Difficult. To be honest, I can't choose between None So Vile, Whisper Supremacy, And Then You'll Beg and Once Was Not.
I want to say "And Then You'll Beg"... but theres no doubt that will change again within the next few weeks, and then change again, and change again.
When I first got into the band, it was NSV, then I heard OWN, and that quickly became my favourite, then ATYB grew on me, shortly followed by WS (which is still growing on me to this day)...
I remember that in an interview Alex Aurburn said Mike used to check the message book on the Cryptopsy site and read all the negative comments from the hardliners and that it really used to upset him. :1pissed: Now that's beyond the pale! Oh man, that is terrible. Makes me want to write to Mike and tell him how much I appreciate his work on WS and ATYB...

Until recently, my favorite was always NSV/BMF pretty much equally aside from production. Now Whisper Supremacy, once it stops being unlistenable, is like a revelation.
There is only one certainty for me. NSV has the best vocals on any death metal album.
Seems like im the only one who prefers Ungentle Exhumation .....
That's what the stats say. :weird:
Funny story: I heard my somewhat distant cousin from Montreal was into metal, and so I asked my dad what he listened to: Slipknot.
Told him I'm going to drag him into a Cryptopsy concert one of these days.

Whisper Supremacy. It was definately between WS and ATYB for me. I like NSV but all the albums that Lord Worm has done pale in comparison to DiSalvo's work imo.

So why did you vote OWN ?
Gottwurst
03-09-2006, 02:42 PM
cause they're new to cryptopsy and don't know that there are better records.
can't choose between nsv and ws.

I thought it was because they are gay.
You did choose, fucker.
i've yet to hear pre-None So Vile stuff so I vote None So Vile.

Yeh, I did vote OWN, but I don't remember voting, and I thought this was a general thread where you just post shit.
NSV or OWN...........

There is only one certainty for me. NSV has the best vocals on any death metal album.
I wouldn't say it has the best vocals on any death metal album period, but definately the best vocals out of all the Cryptopsy albums.

Agreed. Lord Worm is a damn lunatic on that record. Well, he's a lunatic all the time, but you know what I mean.

Random question;
Didn't Lord Worm hire Di'Salvo as his replacment? (when LW left)
From what I understand, yes.

Once Was Not is currently just blowing me away. i have not heard the Di Salvo albums so I can'y comment. Its just insane as usual.

Yep, Mike was chosen by LW and Flo as the replacement vocalist, with wholehearted endorsement. The band had met Mike when he was doing vox for Infestation (which is also the name of one of my favourite Terrorizer songs! )

None So Vile without a doubt. Well actually there is a doubt because they're all pretty damn good. Too bad Blasphemy Made Flesh didn't have the good production of this album.

Lord Worm is definitly my favorite metal vocalist of all time.
Great guy too. I got the awesome chance to hang out with him and the rest of the band last time they came to Georgia.
