Yeah, that was pretty rad.
... Although, in my mind, "The Pestilence That Walketh In Darkness (Psalm 91 5-8)" always conjured a colder, bleaker atmosphere than a lush rainforest.
I wonder why they went with the rainforest theme.

I found it good in some bits, but gay in others. No hyperblast shots for example ;)
I'm just not a big fan of these style videoclips, I much prefer the live show clips.

If that's 'dreadlocks' I spotted on Eric... we're in for trouble!!! There's a theory behind this, trust me...
The minute Max Cavalera got them - Sepultura progressively got Worse - Same with Anders Frieden & In Flames - Same with Jeff Walker & Carcass - Same with Alex Hellid & Entombed - Same with Robb Flynn & Machine Head - Same with Chris 'Crust' Barnes & Six Feet Under... there's probably a stack more which I can't remember but reserve the right to add later...
It's a proven FACT that all these bands music turned very sour, the minute dreadlocks entered the equation... you can't deny it.
With the loss of Jon Levasseur from the line-up & now signs of Marley-ism on one of the bandmembers - this has really got me really worried about the future of Cryptopsy...
Where's Mulder & Scully when you need 'em???
The video is pretty cool though, and for some reason it makes the song more palatable to me. It's still the worst they've ever decomposed as a band - but I blame it on the Dreads...

I was thinking the same Tyler, but I guess its just the water that makes his hair look like dreads. Hasn't the video been shot september last year? In the live pics from their tour with Suffocation that took place around novmember/december he had no dreads. Haha maybe the next Cryptopsy Album has some reagge influences =)

I didn't like it, I thought it was pretty corny. I didn't like the song to begin with, and the video didn't help it too much. If only they had made a video from None So Vile...

Sorry dude, but if you think I need glasses - then I think you need contact lenses! After some serious double checking of the video, Eric's hair is definitely of 'dread' nature. They aint the big puffy Cavalera dreads, they're those really thin Avril Latrine type dreads - you can even see what resembles elastic with colored beads holding the knit together at the end of each weave.
I saw The Crypt last night, and there was no sign of the dread - Like you say, he doesn't have them now so it may have just been a short phase he was going through. I did meet Flo & Lord, but forgot to ask them if they could confirm it...

I don't think he had dreads, if you want to get rid of them the only is to shave your head and since his hair is very long there is noway he shaved his head and regain his hair length again in such a short time period. Or he used the same magic like Jeff Walker.
Necrotism 1991 -> big fat nasty dreads
Heartwork 1993 -> at least 50 cm long hair
EDIT: I watched the video again and stop it at a few parts and it really seems to be dreads. Also strange that Eric is playing 4 string bass in that video, maybe he doesn't want a expensive 5 string bass ruined by the water.

It's not dreads!!
It's plaits, you know where you take 3 pieces of hair and weave them together that's all it is, easy to do easy to take out..
Nice video by the way, I liked the rainforest/swamp setting, Alex and Eric were sick..

Cheers for clarifying that, D(r)ead And Dripping! :emot-nod: OK... it may not be 'official' dreadlocks but it amounts to much the same thing, as plaits are just a bootleg version of Dreads anyway, designed for those that just want to dip their toe in the water before drowning themselves in a pot of chicken and rice, reefer smoke & multi colored beanies.
I have many friends from all races, but one thing I can't abide is Wigga's! I find it hilarious when people start painting their self portrait as being something they could never possibly be... it's called existing in denial. :analsex:

I don't know about that one... have you seen any Strapping Young Lad live shows? I think Devin Townsend pretty much holds the crown for the concept of a deranged frontman.

Mike Smith of Suffocation has dreads. :)
Yeah... there's some bands that are dreaded & by some miracle manage to survive the almost inevitable.
I know I primarily mentioned the 'music' turning to shit because of Dreads, but there's also the 'hidden demons'... or internal turmoil within the band which can also be taken into consideration.
At The Gates are a prime example... everything was running along smoothly until Mr. Lindberg was inflicted with dread - then on the best album of their career they split up. We all know about the Sepultura incident as well.
Mike may sport dreads, but Suffocation have also had their fair share of troubles & struggles with different line-ups... they even split for a while. Thankfully not for too long...
God Forbid, almost split up as well... prompting them to call their 2nd last album, 'Gone Forever'.
Maybe it's a race thing, and it's just Wigga'z that turn their music vegan, or expire before their time? Both, Byronde (God Forbid) & Mike (Suffocation) are closer to the culture that dreads spawned from, so maybe it's less of a voodoo curse for them to deal with than those of caucasian dreadnaught descent...
The mystery continues...
