So, I joined a Deathcore band, and since this board seems like the place to ask, I was wondering if you guys could suggest some mics and some good PA's...
I would appreciate it, thanks

The Sure SM58... done, oh and as for P.A's I have no idea... just rent a studio room with a PA in it... it will work out cheaper and I doubt you will need your own PA for gigging.

Where would I find this? Who makes it?
Im rather new at this, I was gonna play bass, but after hearing me scream, they want me as the second vocalist..., so I know nothing about mics

death core....two vocalists.....
just what we need a second rate despised icon. go back to playing bass, do some backup vocals, and try to rip of more than just one band.

i'm really not trying to be a dick, i'm just trying to stop a bad idea before it gets started.

We dont have a Hardcore screamer, Im more Cannibal Corpse/Immortal low and highs and Greg sound closer to a mix of Trevor and the vocalist from A Life Once Lost...
Not the same

jshaft, go swim in a tar pit.
that is a really good comeback. anyways, like i said i wasnt trying to be shitty, i should have worded it in a nicer way. i personally think that two singers is not a good idea and usually seems more like a gimmick than anything.

Hahaha, I thought it sounded funny when I said it...I mean, imagine someone trying to swim through a tar-pit...they would fail miserably.
It's not like I was actually trying to put you down or something hahaha. As is every other putdown on this board besides those contained in the Albuquerque, NM thread.

Yeah, you should at least play an instrument and do backup vocals. Or even do vocals just as much and not call yourself a backup vocalist. But if you're not playing an instrument, you're just going to be up on stage bored most of the time while you're not participating in any of the band's playing. I mean, you could always play the cowbell...

Shure PG58 Vocal Mic
A rugged microphone tuned to accentuate the clarity of lead and back-up vocals. Tailored frequency response is smooth and extended. Tuned specifically for vocal applications. Cardioid polar pattern picks up the most sound from in front of the microphone and some sound from the sides. Less susceptible to feedback in high volume settings. Dynamic cartridge has a simple, rugged coil. Handles extreme volume levels without distortion.
Best $60 you can spend.

to be honest you may as well buy the cheapest mic they sell. your not gona need clarity if you're "deathcore", so as long as it pics up your voice well an doesnt feed back shit loads your sorted. shure PG48's are basically the budget mic.
