Man, I love this band; probably the most out of the many who worship Carcass. Awesome Musicianship, Sven's rabid vocals... the bud I always mention is going to see them rock and level the house with Cryptopsy in London, AARRGGHH!
Any of you guys fans of these Belgian serial killers? My fave album is still "GOREMAGEDDON" and I'm looking forward to where they go next. Which album do you guys dig the most. For you lucky headbangers who've seen them with Cryptopsy, can you tell what they're like live, tell me what you like about the band or dislike etc. Cheers!
Oh yeah... ABORTED rule!! (IMO) :hbang32en

Cool man, have a great time! Please give us a report back: on the mighty Cryptopsy of course, but also the Belgian hacksquad Aborted.
i'm seeing them the day before my birthday, on the Cryptopsy tour :D
Them and the almighty Canadians are the main reasons I'm going... that and to get drunk, naturally ;)
I have a few friends that knock Goremageddon (calling it "gay" and that, in the typical Death Metal Listener speak), but if i'm honest it was the first Aborted album I heard anyway, so I guess that's why i'm so fond of it....

They are so amazing....
I have a hard time deciding between my favorite album.... Goremageddon or Engineeing the Dead....

Thanks guys. Nice one Surt, enjoy the show.. and happy birthday! :emot-hand Man, as for neurotic, I need to check out "Munching The Rotten" by ArseBreed, apparently it was potent!
Cheers man.. to say i was excited when i heard that date announced is putting it mildly... i think the only way they could have topped it would have been it being the next day and actually being the same day as my birthday...
And i'm pretty sure if you click my signature and go thru to the main site you should be able to hear one of the tracks from 'Munching The Rotten' to convince you to spend your hard-earned Rands on :D

No problem. Thanks again mate: you and Surt are really bringing me up to speed. Now I just gotta decide which UL bands to get first using their mail offer! Will get to the arsebreed a bit later...
Where exactly in the UK are you? If you're checking out that London show, my best bud/metal Yoda should be there. Hope you guys have a sick one. That lucky bastard (said with much love) has seen Morbid Angel, Decapitated, Rotten Sound, Nile, Behemoth, Incantation, Krisiun, Behemoth, Deicide in the last year alone, and now the "Domination" tour! Goddam it, that's some good stuff
Nah, i'm going to the Manchester one. I can't usually afford many gig trips to London as it's usually around the £80 mark...
Sucks a bit cause some of the really awesome tours are fucking annoying cause they only stop once in the UK in London (ie Morbid Angel amongst others).
Last year I did get to see quite a lot of good regular and brutal death bands though like Beheaded, Behemoth, Vomit Remnants, Deicide, Insision, Incantation, Belphegor, Deranged, Vomitory, Vader, Desecration (good ol' Welshies), Prostitute Disfigurement, Visceral Bleeding.... the list goes on.
Missed out on seeing Krisiun though as the bastards didn't play anywhere further north than London... they were meant to play a date in Manchester with Behemoth & Incantation either last year or the year before, but to cut a long story short, got fucked over by the peopel in the venue not letting them in at all, so the gig got cancelled with no notice.
Hopefully though, with the four TBC dates announced for the Assassination tour, I'll finally get to see them live this year.

Ah Manchester! When I'm in none metal mode I enjoy many a fine band from your town- Joy Division, New Order, The Smiths, Elbow etc. but not fucken' Oasis! :p
That's a great list of bands, most of which I'd go down on someone for! I'd be most keen to see Prostitute Disfigurement about whom I hear great things, and Insision who I've been wanting to check out for ages.
Apart from described as ruling, I think Insision were the first band in ages that declared through their metal: Yeah, we're from Sweden but give nothing 150% pure fucking brutality and technicality- no watered down Gothenburg melody to be found here. Don't get me wrong I still love good melo-death (At The Gates, Dissection, The Haunted), but a good idea has nearly been killed by constant ripping off. Apparantly Insision and Spawn OF Possession are the modern flag bearers of Swedish DEATH metal, true?
well i'd also mention Visceral Bleeding too as I think they're worthy of adulation (more so than Spawn Of Possession in my opinion), and they're pretty reliable to always put on a good live show too.
You could look up a band called Immersed In Blood I guess too.

Cheers man, will do. Let's hear it for some real Swedish DM! :chainsaw:

Visceral Bleeding is amazing In Vermis. Also, for some good melodic death from Sweden, I always get shit for liking these guys, look at (old) In Flames. From Lunar Strain up to Clayman. I sorta like Reroute, but not really, but definitely check them out if you haven't. Favorites go as:
1) Jester Race/Black Ash Inheritance
2) Whoracle
3) Lunar Strain
4) Subterranean
5) Colony
6) Clayman
7) Reroute To Remain
8) Come Clarity
9) Soundtrack To Your Escape - don't get this one.

Well that was uncalled for Surt. I didn't say they were the best but jeez! Go to www.swedishmetal.net for some others to look at In Vermis.

Easy, dudes. Involuntary I know why Surt says this: The Gothenburg sound was replicated far too much and that was BEFORE crappy metalcore bands started recycling ATG riffs. Most snotty punks do think that some modern WATERED down Melodeath is as brutal as it gets.
Think what you will, I still endose OLD In Flames, At The Gates, Dissection, The Haunted. You'll be happy to know that any time a friend claims to like In Flames and cites the recent albums (BARF!), I get the fuck in there and lend them "The Jester Race." Man, what the fuck happened?
Apart from the fuckin brutal modern bands, I still love with all my heart Stockholm legends ENTOMBED (yes, all: "Same Difference" was the only one that left me cold) and DISMEMBER! :hbang32en And for grindcore, the mighty NASUM! (RIP) Pure Class. And the goddess Lena Olin is from Stockholm... plenty of reasons for me to always love Sweden!! ;)
if it seemed i was being aggressive InvoluntarySlaughter, that wasn't the case.
I just happen to think that In Flames are quite easily the single most overrated Swedish band ever had the label "metal" thrust on them. At least Soilwork have the decency to not call themselves 'metal' anymore, and they IMO released far better more cohesive early albums than any of In Flames' back catalogue.
Once you've heard one early In Flames album you've pretty much heard them all IMO.
Truce, InvoluntarySlaughter? :beerchug:

That's a good point Surt, and actually quite fitting for this thread.
I saw the most recent live pics of Aborted in action and Sven was unmistakably wearing a Soilwork Workshirt! I never would have guessed... not the most brutal or bloody band around. Still diversity is good... fuck, I like some Elven King. Shit I just said that! does that make me
:limpwrist ?!

Yes, you're gay! :-) Well, at Tuesday's show he also wore this workshirt, they're friends with Soilwork I guess, this isn't a problem for me to tell the truth. As you said, diversity is definitely a good thing. That's the way I see it.

Truce Surt. You crazy fucker you! :beerchug:
And yeah, once you've heard early In Flames, you have pretty much heard it all. But they were around in 1993, so they are one of the originals. But At The Gates get that one.

Heheh Mol, I knew I was queer: digging Sonata Arctica should have been a clue!
But seriously, no disrespect. I dig SA and am not Homophobic. I love Rob Halford... but not like that!
Glad the show rocked. It's good to know the Belgian butcher can have diverse taste; he can do it so can I! As I say on my meloDM thread, you might catch me at some crushing techDM show wearing a "SOTS" or Maiden tee, with pride!
Oh, and my Cryptopsy one will be in the wash!
Dudes Please note: if any of you are over on the official Aborted forums, I am on there and would dig to chat, but I'm using another nick! Silly I know but I just got into the mood
... over there I'm PUSFELCH. mmm, :emot-yum: !
Well I think the band would Approve! The other candidate was PukeDouche... maybe I'll use that for a Disgorge forum if I find one.

"Goremageddon" is one the most brutal death metal cd's ever. Aborted is also a very good live band.
