DEW-SCENTED RELEASE VIDEO TEASER FOR NEW TRACK

German thrashers DEW-SCENTED have released an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the recording of the song, “Guided By The Dead Light,” one of the new tracks off of their upcoming 20th anniversary anthology “Insurgent.” Check out the studio footage below

Lauded as “one of the most determined and deadly thrash metal acts in recent history with one of the finest metal releases of 2013″ (Alibi), the band will release their 19-track, 76-minute compilation “Insurgent” in North America on Tuesday (28) via Prosthetic Records. The release celebrates over 20 years of deadly thrash metal with a mix of new original songs, live tracks and rare covers.

DEW-SCENTED were recently seen supporting thrash legends Testament on their European tour, after which they were featured on the Full Metal Cruise alongside Doro, Kreator, Sabaton and several others. The band will play a slew of European festival dates throughout the summer including the prestigious Wacken Open Air alongside Anthrax, Rammstein and Meshuggah, to name just a few.

CHILDREN OF BODOM video for “Transference” off new album Halo of Blood

“Transference” was directed by Grupa 13 and shot in Wroclaw, Poland this past March. The track comes from Halo Of Blood, the eighth studio album by this world renowned Finnish heavy metal band, due out in North America on June 11^th.

CARCASS Sign to Nuclear Blast Records!

Disinterred British extreme metal legends CARCASS have signed to Nuclear Blast Records for the world excluding Japan! Surgical Steel, the band’s first studio release since their 1996 LP Swansong, was produced by Colin Richardson (NAPALM DEATH, BOLT THROWER, GOREFEST, CANNIBAL CORPSE, SINISTER, RODRIGO Y GABRIELA) and mixed/mastered by Andy Sneap (MEGADETH, ACCEPT, EXODUS, TESTAMENT). Joining guitarist Bill Steer and bassist/vocalist Jeff Walker in the band’s current incarnation are new drummer Dan Wilding (ABORTED, TRIGGER THE BLOODSHED) and guitarist Ben Ash (PIG IRON, DESOLATION, LIQUEFIED SKELETON). Expect some guest vocals from original sticksman Ken Owen as well, when Surgical Steel is released this Fall world-wide.

CARCASS has released several classic albums over the years, including Decibel Magazine “Hall of Fame” inductees Heartwork and Necroticism – Descanting the Insalubrious, and their influence has changed the face of extreme metal with every consecutive release. Whether it was inventing gore-grind (i.e. Reek of Putrefaction, Symphonies of Sickness) or creating the template for melodic death metal (i.e. Heartwork), CARCASS has always made records by which bars were set and rules were broken. Upon the band’s dismantling in 1996, fans mourned the loss of the seminal act and longed that the group would return again one day. In 2007, the metal world got its wish as CARCASS reformed to play several  sold-out reunion shows around the globe. Once again re-motivated to administer a shot of cynicism and infectious riffs into the arm of a sickly metal scene, founding members Bill Steer and Jeff Walker began writing what would become the latest output of their highly influential career, Surgical Steel. Only the choicest of cuts were made, and blood sweat and tears were shed to bring us a record worthy of the CARCASS legacy. In short, Surgical Steel is just what the doctor ordered.

SIX FEET UNDER: VIP Bundles For The Hell In July Tour Available Now

SIX FEET UNDER are currently preparing for their next round of tour dates in support of Unborn. As previously announced, Decrepit Birth and Cannabis Corpse will be joining them on this tour. Additionally, up-and-coming act Dealey Plaza will open the show. The tour begins July 10th in Houston  and VIP bundles are currently available. Bundles include a ticket to the show, SIX FEET UNDER shirt, a limited “Hell In July” poster, and a back stage pre-show hang with founding vocalist, Chris Barnes.

REVOCATION Reveal Album Art + Tracklisting; Announce Additional Tour Dates

REVOCATION have confirmed an August 6^th release date for their new self-titled album via Relapse Records.  This is their 4^th full-length release and the first featuring new bassist Brett Bamberger.  Today the band has unveiled the artwork and tracklisting for the album.  The artwork was created by Orion Landau (Dying Fetus, Obscura, Nile).

REVOCATION will be taking part in this year’s Summer Slaughter Tour, alongside the likes of Dillenger Escape Plan, Cattle Decapitation and others.  The tour starts July 19^th in San Francisco, CA and runs through August 20^th in Portland, OR.  In addition to the Summer Slaughter dates, the band has announced a handful of headline shows leading up to the Summer Slaughter and immediately following the tour.  All dates are listed below.

AMON AMARTH has revealed a trailer for their forthcoming mini documentary. Entitled Forging Mjölnir, the short film will appear as a three-part series with each official segment slated to premiere via the band’s microsite at http://deceiver.amonamarth.com.

The Forging Mjölnir documentary comes in anticipation of AMON AMARTH’s ninth studio offering, Deceiver of the Gods. Recorded at Backstage Studios in Derbyshire, UK, and produced, mixed and mastered by Andy Sneap (Opeth, Megadeth, Exodus, Arch Enemy, Killswitch Engage), the follow-up to the band’s critically acclaimed 2011 Surtur Rising full-length delivers ten fiery battle hymns made of buzzsaw riffs and epic harmonies all driven by vocalist Johan Hegg’s commanding Viking roar and absorbing accounts of Norse crusades and treachery. Deceiver of the Gods comes adorned with another outstanding Tom Thiel-created cover portraying a mythical battle between the Norse Gods Loki and Thor. As an added bonus,Messiah Marcolin (Candlemass) makes an appearance as guest vocalist on eighth track, “Hel.”

The godfathers of grindcore, Brutal Truth, have announced a run of summer and fall European festival appearances and tour dates.  Kicking off July 24th at Metal Camp in Slovenia, the grind veterans will perform a string of 10 dates before heading back in September for another run.  A complete listing of dates is included below with more to be announced shortly.

Brutal Truth released their last full-length End Time in 2011 to immense critical acclaim. THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER’s brand name new cd, Everblack, will be launched in less than a month. Following the extremely favorable reaction to “Into the Everblack,” the band has partnered with Revolver Publication to stream an additional track from Everblack. Fans can listen to “Rape in Hatred by Vines of Thorn,” an ode to one of Trevor Strnad’s preferred horror motion pictures, Evil Dead, now BELOW.

The cover art for Everblack was painted by prominent artist Nick Keller with Weta, whose recent projects include: The Hobbit, Avatar, Chronicles of Narnia, and more. Recording was completed at Audiohammer Studios (lead guitars and vocals), Rustbelt Studios (drums), and Regal Fecal (guitar and bass). Blending was handled by Jason Suecof and Ryan Williams, mastering was completed by Alan Douches at West Westside. Trevor Strnad’s horror-inspired lyrics continue on Everblack, beginning with In Hell is Where She Waits for Me, a reference to the murder from which the band took for their name.

LINEUP ANNOUNCED FOR TORONTO “SPREAD THE METAL” FESTIVAL 2013

This September 7th and 8th, Spread the Metal Records will host one of its annual “Spread the Metal Festival” in Toronto, ON.
The festival will see 100% of its profits donated to Kiva, a non-profit organization, which helps people around the world to lift themselves out of poverty.
Headlining the festival will be Suffocation, with additional headliners to be announced at a later date. Direct support will be provided by The Agonist, Augury and Skull Fist.
Additional support bands include Beheading of a King, The Catalyst, Edge of Attack, Deathpoint, Crimson Shadows, Nephelium, Hallows Die, Evertrapped, Answer With Metal and Sanktuary.
