The album will be released on a deluxe six panel digipack with gold foil stamped seals woven into the artwork and on gatefold vinyl later this year by Odium records. The album will also be available in a die-hard edition, limited to 50 hand numbered copies on cd and vinyl that will be released together with a book written by G. De laval. The book will process and dig deep in to the concept of the negated elements with around 50 pages of pure occult magic.

For those who are not yet familiar with the genius of expert guitarist RAMON ORTIZ, prepare to experience a shred fusion onslaught that only a true master of his craft could execute. For those who are familiar with Ortiz and his successful stints with revered Latin American metal groups Puya and Ankla, the wait is over – Ortiz is back in action with his brand new upcoming release Portal, set to release on September 15, 2015. The album will be available for pre-order exclusively via CDBaby beginning August 18th.
Today RAMON ORTIZ is giving fans an early taste of Portal by streaming the first single “82512”, which features percussion by Paoli Mejias of fusion rock legends Santana, via his official YouTube page.
Ortiz states, “I had heard about Paoli’s legendary drumming for a long time but never had seen him perform, which is ironic since we?re both from San Juan, Puerto Rico. Likely because we’re from different musical scenes, he’s more from the Latin Jazz side and I?ve always been more on the rock/metal side. People kept telling me ‘you should do something with him because you’re both doing musical fusion and are both innovators in different genres’. I finally saw him perform with his own band at a Jazzfest in San Juan and I was floored – very high energy Latin Jazz fused with Puerto Rican folklore and his incredible virtuosic conga drum playing. I couldn’t talk to him after the show, but luckily a few days later I ran into him, and congratulated him on his show, and mentioned to him that I had an instrumental track called ‘82512’ which featured a fusion of metal and latin jazz and that I would love him to play conga drums in it. He heard it loved it and put new life into it with his conga drumming style.”
RAMON ORTIZ’s career has always been characterized by the exploration of seemingly incompatible musical genres and the relentless pursuit of fusing them together. His music ranges in influence, craftily balancing traditional shred with Latin American rhythmic instrumentation and various fusion elements. Portal showcases these influences and more, and progresses even beyond Ortiz’s first solo record, Ortiz (2012). This first record initially introduced fans to Ortiz’s undeniable musical ability in a solo setting, and reached the top 20 most-played tracks on Sirius XM Liquid Metal as published by Revolver Magazine.

As 20 Buck Spin prepares to release Darkness Evermore, the sophomore full-length from Portland-based NIGHTFELL, the label has issued the cover art, track listing and confirmed vinyl release date for the anxiously awaited album.
NIGHTFELL is the tumultuous project founded by Todd Burdette (Tragedy, His Hero Is Gone, Warcry) and Tim Call (Aldebaran, Mournful Congregation, Sempiternal Dusk, Saturnalia Temple), who here forge their perceptions into a harsh, epic, and wholly different delivery than any of either artists’ prior or other current bands. Surging with bleak viewpoints lyrically, matched by the seething aggression of each song’s brooding misery, the follow-up to their 2014-issued The Living Ever Mourn displays NIGHTFELL’s wrath in an even more slickly-deployed state. On the potent Darkness Evermore, the duo unloads a more than forty-minute deluge of new material through six demoralizing new tracks recorded and mixed at Red Lantern Studios by Evan “Maus” Mersky and mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege, as with their debut.
20 Buck Spin will issue Darkness Evermore on CD and digital platforms on September 11th, with the 12″ LP now confirmed for an October 23rd street date. Following their maiden trip across the Pacific last year, Australia’s gruesome twosome, DEAD, has washed back onto US soil for another putrid invasion of our Western shores, with a month-long tour beginning this evening. In celebration of the new expedition, the band has unveiled their impressive new major budget “Nakaken” video, hailing from their latest LP, Captains Of Industry.
DEAD, our favorite downunder bass-and-drums duo, kicks out the noise jams once again, motherfuckers. Captains Of Industry, their third LP, beats you about the head with stripped-down but mighty mind-melters, the occasional respite via ambient experimental pieces. Continuing along their trajectory to nowhere, Captains… has all that palpable DEAD energy, up in your face with a wry smile, battering away. The recording by Toshi Kasai captures their unholy marriage of sharp bass riffage and hardcore drum acrobatics punctuated by shout-along vocal bursts. DEAD has released their first official video for the new LP with the complex storyline of “Nakaken.” Named after their comrade in Japanese band, Cyberne, the video delivers the seventh of the nine rampant rippers on Captains Of Industry with a dazzling overdose of maximum visual impact.

Having just slayed their native continent on tour with Black Cobra and Jucifer, the DEAD duo is back in the US this week, beginning a month-long Western America tour TODAY. The first phase of the tour sees the band alongside House Of Lightning and Wrong for a week-and-a-half of shows, ending just before the band raids Total Fest once again, for the final incarnation of the festival this year. Following Total Fest, DEAD will go rogue, performing with the likes of Gay Witch Abortion, Big Business, Vaz, Hot Victory, Rabbits, Prizehog, Towers, Volumen, Lazarus Long, Drunk Dad, Elephant Rifle and many others for the remainder of the trek before smoldering to a finale in Los Angeles where the tour began, the final show on September 3rd.

Richmond, VA natives LAMB OF GOD originally formed in 1994 as Burn The Priest while in college together at Virginia Commonwealth University, initially performing in meagre venues and hocking rough demos amongst the local scene. In 1998, the band changed their moniker to LAMB OF GOD, which would mark their impending ascension to top-tier status, as well as one of the only tangible career deviations that the band would ever undertake ? having consistently released chart-topper after chart-topper while maintaining a true and constant line-up of members and increasingly growing fanbase; a rarity in modern music. The track “Awaken” was the first song we all wrote together, so it holds special weight for us all. The ideology of the band is for us all to shine in our skill sets, and I think that happened. The result: something fresh & new but hinting that old skool influence. “Awaken” is an aggressive song, that got me to delve into emotions that I haven’t visited in quite a while. The song deals with the turmoil’s of life and doing our best to succeed regardless. There are a lot of metaphors in each song, but some are very real (Take this noose around my neck that binds me to my lives regrets). You can decide, I guess. FATES WARNING to Release Deluxe Reissue Deluxe Version of Classic Album “A Pleasant Shade of Gray” October 2nd Via

Progressive Metal legends FATES WARNING will be releasing 3 CD/DVD deluxe reissue of their critically acclaimed 1997 release “A Pleasant Shade of Gray” October 2nd on Metal Blade Records. “A Pleasant Shade of Gray” is a single song that is divided into twelve tracks. The album is notable for its darker mood and mixture of progressive rock and metal with hints of industrial, classical, and psychedelia.
This all encompassing and expansive collection features the original album on the first CD. The second CD features a live version of the album recorded during the band’s 1998 European tour as well as a soundcheck recording of “We Only Say Goodbye” and a studio cover version of the Scorpions “In Trance”. The third CD in the package consists of demos from the pre-production and writing sessions for “A Pleasant Shade of Gray”. Finally, the DVD portion of the set consists of two complete live performances of “A Pleasant Shade Of Gray”. The first is a restored and re-edited version of the band’s 1998 VHS release and the second was filmed at The Whisky in Hollywood CA in 1999. Saint Asonia was formed when former Three Days Grace singer Adam Gontier received a call out of the blue from Staind lead guitarist Mike Mushok in 2014. Tapping the talents of mutual friends, drummer Rich Beddoe [ex-Finger Eleven] and bassist/background vocalist Corey Lowery [Dark New Day, Stereomud, Eye Empire], the lineup formally solidified. By the beginning of 2015, their initial three-song experiment quickly turned into a full-blown studio session with producer, engineer, and mixer Johnny K [Sevendust, Disturbed, Megadeth] at his Groovemaster Studios in Chicago, IL. In May 2015 the band posted a cryptic video citing ?the combined forces behind 25 Top Ten Rock Singles and seventeen #1 hit songs.? Spock’s Beard’s forthcoming new studio album The Oblivion Particle is the follow-up to 2013’s Brief Nocturnes and Dreamless Sleep. The album finds the band answering the needs of their creations by utilizing the considerable versatility of each member. In addition to Ted Leonard’s soaring vocals and Dave Meros’ distinctive bass, Alan Morse adds autoharp, banjolele, electric sitar and mandolin to his array of instruments, drummer Jimmy Keegan takes over lead vocals on “Bennett Built a Time Machine” and Ryo expands his arsenal of keyboard sounds throughout the album. In addition, virtuoso Kansas violinist David Ragsdale lends his touch to the album’s majestic closer, “Disappear.”
As with the previous album Brief Nocturnes and Dreamless Sleep, The Oblivion Particle was recorded at The Mouse House and produced by Rich Mouser, Alan Morse and John Boegehold, a band collaborator of many years.

The band has filmed and released a promotional music video for the title track and is currently in talks with a new booking agency for touring plans to support the new release for the fall of 2015 and the majority of 2016.
The band originated in 1994 as part of the Cleveland college music scene and relocated to Chicago in 1998 as founder Dominic St. Charles also performed with the Electric Hellfire Club. Urn started touring nationally in 2001 in support of their first self-released EP ?Consecrated Ashes?.
The band then followed up and self-released their ?Desecrated Ashes? EP in 2003 and received strong airplay support via college and internet radio stations across North America. The band then self-booked several national tours and eventually made their Canadian and Mexican debuts in this timeframe.
In December of 2005, URN signed with Rotting Corpse Records and in July of 2006, released their first full-length LP ?Dancing with the Demigods? with major chain-store distribution through Century Media, Synergy Distribution, and Azure Green. The album received rave reviews in trade magazines such as Pit Magazine, Brave Words and Bloody Knuckles, Explicitly Intense, New Witch, Dark Realms, and many more.

With an already unfuckwithable track record built through their self-titled debut and subsequent II 7″ releases and their insatiable need to play their tunes at maximum speed in the live setting as often as possible, DIE CHOKING — featuring ex and current members of Total Fucking Destruction, Cop problem, and Burden — is about to take things to the next level with their debut full-length. All in all, III is one of the heaviest grindcore albums ever conceived. Tracked by Dave Otero (Allegaeon, Cephalic Carnage) at Flatline Audio in Denver, Colorado, The Anthropocene Extinction serves as CATTLE DECAPITATION’s most sonically and thematically engrossing record to date. In less than three weeks, NEUROSIS will embark on the band’s most widespread North American tour since before the turn of the millennium.
On the eve of their thirtieth anniversary, the forceful aural surge of NEUROSIS will be felt with a deluge of performances set to take place in sixteen cities across America and Canada this Summer. The genre-creating quintet will punish the continent with one of their most crushing live sets to date, beginning on July 31st in Lawrence, Kansas, followed by shows in Minneapolis, Madison, Chicago, Louisville, Detroit, Toronto, Montréal, Boston, New York City, Philadelphia, Richmond, Carrboro, Atlanta and New Orleans, before coming to a smoldering finale in Houston on August 16th, invading cities and states which they have not visited since the ’90s along the way.
Support on this venture will be provided by a rotating, dynamic spread of acts, including nomadic doomsday cult, The Body, expansive rock duo, Sumac (members of Baptists, Old Man Gloom, ex-Isis, etc.), Pinkish Black and labelmates Iron Tongue, not to mention support from labelmates Brothers Of The Sonic Cloth (featuring Tad Doyle of TAD and Hog Molly) for the entire trek, excluding NEUROSIS’ participation in the immense Montréal Festival where they’ll join the likes of Mastodon, Meshuggah, Gorguts and many others.

Since the release of their 1987 debut LP, Pain Of Mind, NEUROSIS has increasingly developed into a more potent and prolific act with each new recording and tour. Through releases on Alchemy, Lookout!, Alternative Tentacles, Relapse, Hydra Head and more — before forming their own Neurot Recordings which houses all of their recordings since the beginning of the millennium — the band has become a genre-defining institution of heavy music. The Oakland, California natives have broken ground at every turn, pioneering a sound that influenced heavyweights including Isis, Mastodon and High On Fire and inspiring endless legions of fans with their expansive, mind-altering works, as well as forming their own solo outfits and touring acts outside of NEUROSIS.
In 2012, NEUROSIS released Honor Found In Decay, recorded by Steve Albini at Electrical Audio and mastered by John Golden of Golden Mastering, the album showcasing the band taking their esoteric but leveling and hymns to even further diversified areas of exploration. Following the album’s hometown release show, they disbanded with the backdrop visuals that had accompanied their live set nearly since inception, empowering their anthems in a drastically more human approach. Since the album’s release, NEUROSIS has been heavily proactive tour-wise, embarking on regional bouts of touring and taking part in high-profile one-off and festival events throughout North America and Europe. And the cycle shall continue through the remainder of 2015 and onward towards their eleventh studio album.

Reactivated New York death metal unit, SKINLESS, will level stages this Fall on a medley of live takeovers. The onstage debauchery includes performances in Montreal, Clifton Park, Boston, Brooklyn and Philadelphia as well as a co-headlining stint with Pig Destroyer on this year’s edition of Denver Black Sky in December. Additional onstage infiltrations are currently in their plotting stages.

SKINLESS will be performing in support of their long-anticipated and critically-lauded Only The Ruthless Remain full-length, released via Relapse Records last month. Bedecked in the sadistic grooves and flawless musicianship for which the band has become notorious, Only The Ruthless Remain features SKINLESS’ now-classic, late ’90s lineup of founding guitarist Noah Carpenter, vocalist Sherwood Webber, bassist Joe Keyser and drummer Bob Beaulac, with the addition of second guitarist, Dave Matthews, and marks the band’s first proper full-length offering in nearly a decade.
In related SKINLESS bulletins, the band is currently offering a free download of “Satan Is Living.” The song rears its menacing head during the credits of their ominous video for namesake track, “Skinless.” “Satan Is Living” is an original tune by the Sunshine Family Ministry and serves as an unofficial Only The Ruthless Remain bonus track. The Sunshine Family Ministry was a fanatical religious cult from the ’80s that committed mass suicide by skinning themselves alive… (fast forward thirty years to the gruesome “Skinless” video). The song “Satan Is Living” was recovered from an old reel-to reel recorder recovered at the scene. Only The Ruthless Remain was tracked by Tom Case at Edie Road Studio and Doomsday Bunker Studio, both in upstate New York, with vocals tracked by Dave Otero (Cephalic Carnage, Primitive Man etc.) at Flatline Audio in Denver, Colorado, with the entire slab of audio violence mastered by Brad Boatright (Obituary, Nails, Integrity etc.) at Audiosiege in Portland, Oregon.
“Rae Amitay sounds furious, both at herself and at other people,” begins Invisible Oranges in their investigation of IMMORTAL BIRD’s latest offering. “Who, exactly? I don’t know. There’s a long list of potential targets, judging by her vocal performance on Empress/Abscess, the first full-length album by [the] Chicago polygenre-inclined grind outfit…”
Unleashed today as a collaborative effort with Broken Limbs Recordings taking charge of vinyl and cassettes, and the band self-releasing the CD/digital version under the moniker Manatee Rampage Recordings, IMMORTAL BIRD’s Empress/Abscess is indeed a vexing sound excursion through the very bowels of human existence. Picking up where 2013’s lauded Akrasia EP left off, the record delves deeper into an audio cesspool of desolation, wrath, and overall suffering and with its members having sharpened their skills both as individual musicians and as a functioning unit, the final outcome is nothing short of terrifying.
Following teasers from Decibel Magazine and NPR Music and in celebration of today’s release, INVISIBLE ORANGES offers up Empress/Abscess in all its gut-rotting glory alongside a thorough breakdown of the material at hand. “Duality, sonically and lyrically, drives IMMORTAL BIRD’s music,” writes the popular blog. “It’s what makes the music so interesting to listen to. Echoing the record’s title, Amitay’s characters switch between authoritative (‘It seems that we’ve reached an impasse / A rock and a hard place / I’ll choose the latter / I was born there,’ she screams on opener ‘Neoplastic’) and self-damaging (‘I’ve wasted years with invertebrates […] The idea of redemption is insulting / But you know that,’ from ‘A Watery Grave’). In kind, the music itself is similarly chiaroscuro. During a relatively short timeframe (five songs and just over a half hour of music) the band oscillates between extremes of melody and tempo, chaos and order…. IMMORTAL BIRD’s Empress/Abscess is not a collection of music to only be consumed. It’s a densely layered meditation on anger and abuse, and an equally challenging collage of extreme music sub-genres.”

Empress/Abscess was recorded by Pete Grossmann (Weekend Nachos, Harms Way, Dead In The Dirt) at Bricktop Recording in Chicago, Illinois, mixed and mastered by Colin Marston (Gorguts, Krallice, Nader Sadek, Atheist, Origin etc.) at Menegroth, The Thousand Caves in Queens, New York and finds former drummer/vocalist, Rae Amitay, swapping in her drum stool for a full-time position at the mic with longtime live drummer, Garry Naples (Novembers Doom) taking her place at the kit.
Atmospheric technical death metal conjurors, WRVTH, in cooperation with the death bringers at Decibel Magazine, are pleased to reveal the new video for “Malaise.” Captured by Cory Davis at Yellowbox Films, the manic black and white clip comes by way of the band’s self-titled new full-length, deployed last month via Unique Leader Records.
“This track is focused on self-abuse,” elaborates the band. “Whether it be with substance, friendships or relationships, things you know that are bad for you but you continue to repeat this phase or find yourself caught in this routine of bad habits/decisions.”
Adds Decibel, “This San Jose quintet …is very correctly billed as technical death metal, but the most prominent comparable I hear in WRVTH’s hypnotic video for ‘Malaise’ is defunct anything-goes post-metallers Burst. That’s a good thing. It’s definitely not the only thing. ‘Malaise’ is the second track on WRVTH’s third, self-titled full-length and it maintains an excellent balance of dizzying chops and disquieting atmospherics.”

Nu-Metal legends COAL CHAMBER recently returned from a massive European tour that saw them playing to sold out rooms across the continent. At their London tour stop, the band filmed live footage performing the title track of their new album Rivals. They used this for their head banging new video, which is being debuted today.
