Lita Ford – Living Like A Runaway
LITA FORD still gots it. She is the definition of hard rocker chick to me. Her new album, Living Like A Runaway, is out now via SPV/Steamhammer, and pretty much the whole album is a good one. Lyrically, Living Like A Runaway is about standing tall, conquering your challenges, and making the best out of a fast paced everyday life. With a good message and a ton of catchy rock n? roll the LITA FORD way – we dive into her now 8th studio album with the volume turned up.
From the powerful rock songs like the album opener ?Branded?, to the ballads like the title track ?Living Like A Runway?, LITA FORD?s versatility on this album shines. My favorite song on the album is ?Devil In My Head?. Surely the heaviest song off of Living Like A Runaway, those riffs combined with one of the catchiest choruses I?ve heard from LITA FORD in a while, I am hooked, and you will be, too. The album closer ?A Song To Slit Your Wrists By? by was written by Nikki Sixx, and is a high energy sing-a-long. LITA?s vocal tone really engages the listener in this song, and with its classic rock edge to it, ?A Song To Slit Your Wrists By? is a solid way to close Living LIke A Runaway.
Living Like A Runaway is a damn good album. She has had a handful of mega hits back in the day, but choice cuts like ?Branded? and ?Devil In My Head? should surely end up on that LITA hit list until the end of time. I still can?t believe I haven?t checked out this release until now, but I know this badboy (girl) will be in rotation for a bit. For fans of LITA FORD and for fans of The Runaways, it?s obvious that you need to go out and buy this. It surely is her comeback album, and her return to her hard rock roots.
