Black Water Rising is a New York-based hard rock act featuring singer-songwriter Rob Traynor. If his name sounds familiar, it’s because he used to be in another group called Dust to Dust. After releasing two self-produced albums nationwide with that group, Traynor locked himself away for two years in his Brooklyn recording studio, later emerging with a collection of songs that would become the seeds of Black Water Rising.
The band just unveiled their video for ‘No Halos,’ a track from their self-titled debut album. The clip, which features Jose Hernandez Jr. (HBO’s ‘Oz’) in the starring role, was helmed by acclaimed director Noah Shulman (Soil, Hellyeah!) and depicts religion as cult and uses media as a brainwashing tool. The viewer follows the preacher as he descends into madness caused by society’s ills. Check out the video below the cut.
