Slash Defends Fergie of the Black Eyed Peas

Last week an abysmal rendition of Guns N’ Roses‘ classic “Paradise City” made it’s way onto the internet. The most shocking thing about it was that it featured Slash on guitars and Black Eyed Peas and former meth addict Fergie on vocals. To say that the rock community reacted harshly to the track would be a gross understatement. The song will be reportedly be part of the Velvet Revolver/ex-GNR guitarist’s upcoming Slash & Friends album.
Well, Slash has just defended Fergie via his Twitter account:
“Until now, not too many people have heard Fergie sing Rock & Roll but she sings it better tha most dudes I know. She’s a screamer at heart.”

I typically listen to death metal, black metal and the like. I grew up though listening to GNR as a young wort hog.
I will say, that I still like to listen to GNR on occasion. I like Axel’s voice a lot as far as ‘clean’ vocals go.
I have always saw Fergie as talented despite her chosen company and musical genre choice.
I now have a new respect for Fergie and agree with Slash, I’d rather listen to Fergie sing GNR then any other dude out there other then Axel himself.

Fergie isn’t a chick, it’s a dude. I mean, it has to be, right?
I saw Fergie singing with Mick Jagger and the Rolling Stones for some Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame thing and it made me cringe. Maybe this is Slash’s payback to Axl for him running around using the GnR name. At least Axl is out there making quality original music. Slash just seems like he’s doing anything to stay relevant. Seems like there is no one he wouldn’t collaborate these days.

Her singing the chorus isn’t that bad, but the actual non-chorus is an abortion.

ok …… i love slash …. amazing guitarist …… cypress hill owns …… and fergie has some pipes …… but this collaboration …….. makes me want to start doin meth …… ughhhhh …. i wouldnt have even minded if they all came together and made a new track !!!! but this is fuckkkkkin terrrrrrible ….. cant blame them really though ….. isnt it all bout the all-mighty $$$$$$$$$$ ……. “Slash & Friends” will be a mainstream hit thanks to this track …. so i guess success ?!?!?!
