Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Anthrax 2010 Tour Confirmed?

Bassist Robert Trujillo has spoken up about the certain possibility of METALLICA, MEGADETH, SLAYER, and ANTHRAX all taking to the road and touring as one. Truth. Wouldn’t that be nice?

Read the full interview with MetroMix here. Key excerpts are below:

Metromix: There’s a rumor going around now about the four classic thrash bands (METALLICA, SLAYER, MEGADETH and ANTHRAX) touring together. How would you feel about being part of that?

Trujillo: I think it’s great. We’ve had a few different conversations on the subject. I’m friends with Kerry King and had dinner with him a few months back, and it came up there. I think Dave Mustaine is amazing. I’ve never had a problem with him personally. I think it’d be great if METALLICA shared the stage with his band. METALLICA’s still great friends with Scott Ian. There’s a lot of history there. I think it’d be great for metal. I don’t think all four bands have played together at the same time.

Metromix: So there’s truth to the rumor?

Trujillo: There is, but nothing’s concrete. It’s not a sealed deal. We’re working on it.

They make it sound like there actually is something to get excited about, but when you actually read the interview its just bullshit coming from robert trujillo and thats it haha

Like it or not, this tour would sell. And I’ll get front row seats if it happens.

  6. Anonymous says:

what a shitty lineup. i wouldnt go if it was free.

  7. Anonymous says:

^ i call bullshit. you would go, and you would love every second.

    I hope this happens.

  8. izzo says:

i think i just came a little….just at the thought

  9. Anonymous says:

^-no. i cant stand any of the bands. metallica had some descent stuff long ago, but i wouldnt enjoy seeing them do it now. the rest of the bands just suck.

  10. Glenn says:

I would only be there for Slayer so it wouldn’t be totally worth it.

  11. ed says:

if this were 1989 that lineup would be awesome…

  12. Gary says:

My 4 favorite bands…. id have an orgasm if this is true

  13. holy fucking metal says:

This is fucking rad. What an amazing bill. The four best thrash bands of all time on one tour.

  14. freddy Kruger says:

i bet cheapest tix are over 60 dollars… way to god damn expensive and not worth the cost

  15. 57sop says:

Yeah who would pay a whole $60 to see 4 legendary bands. I cant believe you fucking iditots. That being said it wont happen even if it does it will last 10 shows until the ego ends the tour.

    hunter_killer, At least you’re a consistent idiot.

  16. ewill says:

these bands are not fuckin washed up they are some of the best metal bands every if it wasnt for slayer and anthrax metal would not be alive today with pantera it would not of surived the 90s let me guess u listen to emo screamo music like all the bands that copy shadows fall ur a probably some little 24 year old faggot from cali

  17. Anonymous says:

All your favorite kvlt and tr00 metal bands owe their careers to the 4 aforementioned bands.

  18. Anonymous says:

I would go to the tour. Two things though, Metallica is washed up. The last good thing they have done was a cover of an Itrish folk song (Whiskey in a Jar). At least they do old songs live. Secondly, Slayer haven’t lost anything (aside from a couple of vocal high notes). If you think so, you obviously haven’t ever seen them live.

  19. hunter_killer says:

57sop, your ignorance always amuses me.

Yeah these bands were great (minus Megadeth). WERE. None of them have recorded a thing worth listening to since the mid-90s. If this tour were to happen, and there’s a 99% chance it never will, it’s a cash grab. And you idiots will gladly plunk down hundreds of dollars to reminisce about the good ol’ days, watching an embarrassing caricature of these bands onstage.

Slayer is still good live, I’ll give ‘em that.

  20. terminalfrost22 says:

Just haven’t been able to listen to these bands since i was in high school

  21. Anonymous says:

I wouldn’t go see this thing if it happens, but just because I’ve seen ‘em all in their heyday(s). It’s a cash grab for everyone but I can’t blame them for it. Really, when did Anthrax or even Megadeth for that matter have a chance at Metallica-sized money? It’ll be very popular. And make loads of cash.

  22. Metal Mike says:

LOL @ you kids acting like this wouldn’t be a great show. Go listen to your Linkin Park and Papa Roach pussy music. The music & bands you little bitches listen to now owe it all to those 4 metal gods (& sabbath for that matter).

  23. Shane says:

Yeah, even the new Slayer is kind of disappointing. I am old enough to have loved all these bands in their day. I even saw Metallica open for Ozzy, with Cliff Burton. There is alot of shit being released these days. I mean tons of shit. Its hard to filter through all the garbage. Out of all the newer crap, I give props to E.T.I.D., Suicide Silence, Animals as Leaders and Periphery. btw The new Alice in Chains does sound promising. I dig the two singles they’ve put out recently. But yeah, I doubt this is anything but a ChaChing attempt.

  24. 57sop says:

Metallica knows load reload and st anger suck which is why they i think they played one song off those albums total last time i saw them. When your great your great and what i mean by that is that whatever album they release now will not deminish what they have done and still can do live. Which is why this tour would be amazing but i agree it wont happen.
I would say the new megadeth is a top3 album they have ever released it is great.

  25. levi says:

if they tour together please tour in the u s a in the verizon wireless center

  26. DS says:

I can’t believe there is even 1 hater here when the subject of that lineup emerges…
The problem with metal fans is they all seem to have dual personalities…the guy saying he wouldn’t watch this lineup for free????

Why are you here, what is the point of you wasting your time here…we are talking about 4 of the MOST influential metal bands of ALL TIME!!!!!!!

Thrash metal turned (no disrespect meant AT ALL) what the forefathers of metal did and turned it into something far more aggressive and skilled….

Last time I checked , the majority of new metal out there today has not broken any barriers , the last REAL metal to break those barriers are on that bill (AGAIN, no disrespect , love a ton of new metal as well…just show some fucking respect and at least ACT like you know what you are talking about)

(Metallica is totally mainstream now and Anthrax is in shambles , granted … it would still be a great show)

    FUCK YEAH METAL MIKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  28. Rocker says:

This would rock!!! Like the old Clash of the Titans tour. I hope its real and not rumor. I will be there.

  29. AJWoS says:

This would be the shit… old metallica is untouchable in my book… but it will be kinda weird seeing megadeth completely wipe the floor with everyone else in terms of sound and how tight they are live now…
Endgame is better than anything… any of these bands have done since 1990.
to bad everything before that was owned by metallica haha

    EITHER WAY

it would be the metal show of the century. if this happens… i dont care how much it would cost… id sell one of my guitars for a ticket to see this.

  30. hunter_killer says:

Wow, it’s amazing how obtuse some of you people are. It’s fucking hilarious how much you’re willing to shell out for these has-beens. The only way this tour works is if you get a Delorean with your ticket and it brings you back to 1990. Hope that nostalgia is worth the hundreds of dollars that are going to Ticketmaster and Hetfield’s massage therapist, you retards.

  31. Jake says:

that would be fricken awesome! love em all!

  32. Jake says:

    in phoenix

  33. Tee Jay says:

To all the haters, when you have reached the musical skill and heights that these bands have reached, then you can talk. When you’re inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, you can talk. When you’re near 50 years old and release an album like Endgame, then my friend… you can talk. Until then keep your mouth shut and stop being so god damned negative.

If this tour happens I will PROUDLY spend however much money it takes to be there because each of these bands have had a profound impact on my life and continue to do so. How they choose to spend their money is completely up to them because if you went from jamming in a crack house in Queens New York City and eating Chef Boyardee raw out of the can without so much as a fork to what a band like Metallica has accomplished by doing what they love, then fuck yeah I’d have my own massage therapist too.

There’s this funny little thing called respect… show some.

  34. rayraymartinez says:

you elitists guys are retarded. why would anyone talk sh*it about any of these bands touring together. why do you come to this website if you hate on these bands. this tour would be unreal, a legendary outing for metal even if you do not love these bands anymore or ever did. This would be a huge metal event if it came to your city and thats good news for your music community if you like any metal and will spill over into whatever bands you do actually like. Sucks if you cant afford the hundred bucks or whatever to see what would probably be four $30-$50 shows individually but dont hate on it. death magnetic, endgame, and world painted blood are all solid considering how long these bands have been at it. retards
