Trivium’s Paolo Gregoletto: “Fuck Ozzfest!”
During an exclusive interview with Metal Injection at the final stop of the Mayfest Fest tour in Oklahoma City, OK, we had a chance to chat with TRIVIUM bassist Paolo Gregoletto. The entire interview can be seen here. At one point, Paolo was asked about having to apologize to Ozzfest to get back on the tour and we went off:
“Everybody knows about the Iron Maiden thing, the eggs and all that shit. We were really young when we did that tour. Of course, we were smart asses and we put Iron Maiden shirts on and Iron Maiden flags on our amps. They didn’t like that. We didn’t give a shit, we still don’t give a shit. Maybe it’ll come back next year, but I don’t know how it’s going to compete with [Mayhem] festival. I think this festival is going to kill it. We had to formally apologize or something, it’s like fuck you! How about this, how about I formally say fuck you to Ozzfest. Formal! We don’t want to play your shitty festival!

I love trivium but this guy needs to shut the fuck up. People dont get egged for nothing, everyone knows bruce was being a dick to everyone on that tour.
Paolo you play the gayest looking bass ive ever seen the fucking thing is bigger then you. His backup vocals are fucking awful, nobody cares about this turd
Paolo isn’t the first person to slam Ozzfest…Josh Homme has said similar things, as well as other artists over the years. Ozzfest does blow. Aside from some decent years (’04-’05), it is generally a wallet tugging festival complete with overpriced water and merch. Not to mention it is chock full of obnoxious “SLAYERRRRRRR!!!!111″ drunks who are just there to see Ozzy but feel the need to drink for 12 hours beforehand. Better to see your favorite bands on their own tours instead of some rotating stage with 20 minute sets.
i dont know where the hell youve been going that the water and merch werent overpriced…but please fill me in on that…everyone at ozzfest are the same people at mayhem fest…but youre right with the 20 min slot thing
