A teaser for the new ALICE IN CHAINS song “A Looking in View” is now available over at AliceInChains.com. This is the first sample of new music for the band’s forthcoming album, Black Gives Way to Blue, their first studio release in 14 years. The record will see a release through Virgin on September 29. More news is slated to come on June 30.
For those who prefer, the clip is also available below:
CHUG CHUG CHUG FLOP. This album will suck.
even if they do manage to pull off something that sounds cool putting it out as an alice in chains album is pretty $hiesty.
So Layne Staley was Alice In Chains? He played drums, guitar and bass? Yeah, he was amazing, but who are any of you to judge before even hearing the damn thing? Who are you to say they can’t carry on with someone new if thats what they want to do? Breaking up, or no longer making music because of the death of a band member is a cop out, plain and simple.
Heres a secret: Jerry Cantrell is just as talented as Layne was, only difference being Jerry wasn’t stupid enough to let heroin take him over. When Layne was going through his darkest days it was Jerry that put that band on his back and made it work until it could no longer do so. If they want to release an album with the AIC name, then so be it. If it sucks I will be the first one to eat crow and say I was wrong.
“who are any of you to judge”
your target market, sucka!
id rather see this new dude on heroin :D
This is no more Alice in Chains than the current lineup of Queen or Journey is Journey. Staley’s voice was an irreplaceable part of this band. Nothing more than a cash grab. I agree Cantrell is amazingly talented. Then he should start a new band. This just cheapens the past.
Obviously I meant “Queen or Journey is Queen of Journey.”
Dude some of you people are full of shit. Neither of you douchebags doubting AIC hasnt even heard this guy, he’s siiick. They couldn’t have found a better replacement. I saw them live in Mansfield a few years back, they blew the place off, in a sense he’s even improved on Layne. Although, i’m not taking anything away from Layne.Plus, the new single rocks plain and simple. Layne was excellent no question, but Cantrell was the brains behind the band and he wrote most of the music. Rock on Alice in Chains.
It is just a name…It is the music that matters. Cantrell way more talented then Layne ever was. Layne could sing and get high, that’s about it. I saw them few years ago and Duvall was very impressive. Give ‘em a chance…….
start of Last of my Kind about 10 seconds into it…..perhaps a fucked up sample of Layne Staley??
I’ve listened to it over and over again in my studio……freaks me out!!
