Cryptopsy Guitarist Alex Auburn Abandons The Sinking Ship
Guitarist Alex Auburn of CRYPTOPSY has posted the following statement explaining why he’s leaving the Canadian deathcore band:
“I am announcing my departure of the band CRYPTOPSY. There are many reasons why I must leave the band, and this has been going on for a while now, so I am quitting. The band and I believe it is better for me to go, so I am moving forward. I want to thank the guys in CRYPTOPSY for an adventurous and crazy 10 years. It’s been a great ride. I will especially miss the fans a great deal and i want to thank all of you for you’re awesome support through out those years. Right now I need to take a break for a few months to reflect on my life and my future in music. As far as music goes, I might start my own band next summer but i don’t know yet. In the mean time I am open to good offers and to join other forces.”

this fucking sucks, this used to be one of the sickest brutal tech death metal bands out there, always under rated and ow after that last shit CD everyone is gone, Flo needs to start a new band along with the other original members cause this band is done and its a sad fuckin day, long live CrypTopsY starting with Blasphmey Made Flesh up to Once Was Not
Even though I can’t stand cryptopsy, they are definitely great musicians who have worked hard at their craft for many years. Maybe you lame ass fucks who write for smnnews should have studied music and learned an instrument instead of just using a fucking keyboard to give your pathetic opinion. Smnnews is a worthless group of dudes. ‘Sinking Ship’ when referring to Cryptopsy? You fucking post news on musicians as a hobby. Your ship never even sailed.

How is this biased? The whole fucking article is a direct quote from the guy, except the title. But as someone else pointed out the title is a rather accurate description of how the band is going. You stupid fucks, are you going to say their last album was good and they are staying above water? Think about what you type before you start babbling away you fucking trolls. Fuck yourselves.

A yes, a classic case of the “durrrrrrr dun tawk shit ’bout a band unless yer a successful musician” – and then of course, when successful musicians DO make disparaging comments about bands, these same people make the same chest-thumping comments about them.
I don’t have to eat poison to know it’s a bad thing, fuckface – that’s the great thing about being a human fucking being with those big ol’ frontal lobes for problem solving and figuring things out without direct personal experience. Then again, I have my doubts about whether or not some of you have those qualifications.
Whether the band’s last album was good or not is irrelevant. That is an opinion best left to the listener. The main point behind the story was that a band member left the band and had a statement to go along with it. That is all that needs to be reported. Subtle inclusions of terms like “sinking ship” and “deathcore” are simply nothing more than subjective fluff. Report the news and save the opinions for the comment/message boards. It really should not be that difficult.
