This band makes me ashamed to be from chicago.
Wanna be metal for 13 and 35 year old radio fans.
More than a few times now, when I have meet some new friends or whatever. And they ask me what kind of music I listen to. And I tell them Metal. They always go, “oh, like Disturbed, I like Disturbed”. It always makes me feel embarassed, and sorry for them.

I agree, the fact that people actually think Disturbed is “metal” is embarrassing for metalheads everywhere.
What’s so bad about them seriously? I think the lead singer Dave is a douche but the music isn’t bad. Is it that they are so popular and mainstream? I mean if they weren’t played on radio they wouldn’t be hated on so much?

yeah, anyone know a better site that actually covers “metal news”? On the first comment above, I know what you mean except I always get “Ohhh, u like Metallica? Oh, so you listen to that “slipknot” band?” I can’t help but to laugh in their face at their lack of metal knowledge.
It’s only metal if you can only see the band play in front of 500 people. That’s the rule. It’s only metal if the band plays 10 minute instrumentals. get over yourselves.
there is no doubt that Disturbed is Metal… I think of them as the modern day Judas Priest…and if you think that Judas Priest is not metal, they were the ones that made it popular, then I don’t know what is..
