What’s your opinion on black metal? No, not GOD FORBID silly, the genre. A nordic frost has taken over IGN, and a Top 10 Greatest Black Metal Albums list has been compiled. Agree? Disagree? We maintain neutrality. Judge here.

There are “great” black metal albums?
what the hell is black metal doing on IGN? That’s unexpected. What’s even less expected is the omission of Dimmu and Cradle. I’m pleasantly surprised.
Mostly no-brainers, but Natchmystium? Maybe I missed boat but they seemed a lot more psyched out than to be essential BM.
There are four better Immortal albums than Battles in the North. Thumbs down.
No Burzum but Satyricon and Nachtmystium. yea, right.
Nachtmystium is the best BM band in America, easily.

I recorded my album at the park in my suburban neighborhood on a Fisher Price recorder. It sounded like a pretty good black metal record, I don’t know how I’m not on there.

can’t beleive nachtmystium’s newest release made the list imo its their worst album. Eulogy iv all the way. but seriously they only listed the mainstream bm bands wtf!!!

Not too bad, but you’d think if they were going to include Nachtmystium they would do one that actually sounded like black metal…but then, maybe I’m missing something. I’ve only heard that material live.
