Grammy 2009 Nominations

Heavy metal veterans JUDAS PRIEST are up for two Grammys for tracks from their album Nostradamus.

London-born singer M.I.A. has landed a sole nomination, in the record of the year category. She joins (former?) LED ZEPPELIN frontman Robert Plant for his duet album with Alison Krauss, Please Read the Letter.

AC/DC and METALLICA (who are now officially labeled “rock”) also join the nominee list for various awards. There are a few other gems in the mix as well. Read forth.

    I think what Grammy dudes think is that Slipknot sounds “metal”. For today’s standards, metal ain’t what it used to be 20 years ago. Whether you like it or not, Slipknot sounds way more heavier, or “metal”, even in most of their soft songs, than Judas Priest. Of course it’s hard to label Slipknot, as they touch so many genres, but metal in general should suffice…

    I could not give a flying fuck about the grammys, but it really is baffling that those five pieces of shit bands are a) considered “hard rock” and b)are apparently the best out there, according to whoever votes on this garbage
